The fourth installment and third sequel to Gardeners of the Galaxy is here — and you know what they say about sequels to sequels to sequels: it's time to change things up! Usually this is the point in the franchise where you take things to space, but since we're already here it's time to fight plants with fungus!

The latest addition to the Gardeners of the Galaxy is Mycall the Mushroom, and they are here to boost your formation with the power of fungus! Breathe in some of these spores and you'll have more than enough firepower to take down even the most colossal of evil plants! GARDENERS, ASSEMBLE!

Gardeners of the Galaxy Vol. 4 introduces Mycall the Mushroom and brings back Robbie Raccoon, Broot, Spaceking, Grandmora, and Rex the Wrestler! The party ends on Tuesday, June 11th, 2019 at 12:00PM PDT!

New Tier 4 Crusader: Mycall the Mushroom

Fungi may be categorically gross on average, but this frenzied fungus is one you'll want propagating in your formation!

Mycall the Mushroom is a Support Crusader who uses spores that heal Crusaders with their Herbal Healing capabilities, and has a tendency to Grow in the Dark, buffing your formation. In fact, most of Mycall's abilities buff the formation one way or another - they excel at boosting their allies! Mycall has Fungal Frenzy and Mushroom Soup for improving Global DPS, Propagation for boosting adjacent Crusaders based on how many Formation Abilities are targeting Mycall, Germination to increase the DPS of all Crusaders based on the number of EP in the formation, and, well, you get the idea...

Crusaders Return

If you haven't collected them already, you can unlock previous Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 Crusaders by completing their respective objectives. Robbie Raccoon, Broot, Spaceking, Grandmora, and Rex the Wrestler are all once again available to unlock!

New Tier 4 Objectives

• Recruit Mycall the Mushroom | Mycall the Mushroom takes up a slot in the formation. If he dies, you have to restart the Area. Reach area 600.


• SuperGRO | All plant monsters are stronger and have a ranged attack. Reach area 700.


• Sprinkled | A sprinkler goes back and forth over the formation. Crusaders in the affected columns lose their DPS. Reach area 750.


• Capped Out | Only Crusaders with Legendary items have DPS and their formation abilities active. Reach area 800.


• Down and Dirty | Mounds of dirt take over the formation slowly. Each mound of dirt increases the global DPS for each Flora Crusader in formation. Reach area 850.

Help! Where’s the Loot?

Equipment for event Crusaders can be found in Silver and Jeweled Gardeners Chests, which you can earn from objectives and the free play or buy in the shop. Each non-recruitment objective will drop a chest for its given tier of Crusaders, and free play will drop all-tier chests. Gear for Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 Crusaders will only appear in all-tier chests once you've unlocked the respective Crusaders. You can select the tier of chest you buy in the shop.

You'll have until Tuesday, June 11th, 2019 at 12:00PM PDT to complete Gardeners of the Galaxy Vol. 4!

The butterflies are out there somewhere, and this weekend's visitor is looking to attract them to the event area!

Head to the event area in the Commons to get started. Attract different species to the event area in 2ways:
1 - Help Harrow in the event area with her quests, unlocking at noon on Saturday and Sunday. There are 2 species to unlock this way.
2 - Collect Rare Flowers! You can do this after completing Harrow's first quest, available on Friday. There are 3 species to unlock this way, which will be much more challenging to get!

At the end of this colourful quest, you'll get to choose a butterfly companion from the different species you attract.

You have until noon on Monday May 27th to attract as many as you can, and you'll have until noon on Tuesday May 28th to choose one as a companion. Good luck!

Of all the planes in the multiverse, there is only one of pure law: Mechanus, home plane of the modron race and their supreme ruler, Primus.

While the clockwork modrons themselves seem strange enough, what is more puzzling is how once every 17 cycles, they journey by the thousands on a grand tour of the cosmos. Each time they take the exact same route through the planes — except this time. This time, for reasons unknown, the Great Modron March is headed for the city of Waterdeep...

The Great Modron March 2 introduces Qillek Ad Khollar, the Aarakocra Bard & Cleric played by Tom Hazell on High Rollers, and brings back Evelyn Marthain, Human Paladin of Lathandar. Players will have until Monday, June 3rd, 2019 at 12:00pm PDT, to unlock them!

New Champion: Qillek Ad Khollar

Qillek is timid, meek and nervous, being a comparably young character in the party and thrown into a world he doesn’t understand with no wing to fly him out of a bad situation. His charisma, wit, and superiority ripped away when flying through the Valley of the Storms, taking his left wing and arm away but introducing him to H’esper, who gave him dark visions to push him forward. Inside him is an envious amount of courage and a stable sense of logic when things get dire, which has led other party members to consider him their leader. He doesn’t agree with the idea, but he’s not ready to let his friends down.

Qillek is a Support Champion capable of buffing allies while also debuffing enemies. He casts Prayer of Healing to heal the formation and Bless to boost their damage. When you want to add Qillek to your formation, you can swap him with Calliope (Slot 5).

Returning Champion: Evelyn Marthain

Caring, motherly, and endlessly optimistic, Evelyn has adventured across the realms as part of the Waffle Crew with Strix, Diath, and Paultin for many years. She's always first in battle, thanks to her flying boots, and will always take a hit to protect others. Short, yet tough, her devotion to Lathander has seen her through many perilous situations.

Evelyn is a powerful Tank and Support Champion. She buffs her allies with her Divine Prayer, Channel Divinity, Steadfast Might, and Conduit of the Light abilities. When you want to add Evelyn to your party, you can swap her with Asharra (Slot 6).

Year Two Variants

• Division — Every time a Modron is killed (including bosses) it splits into two copies of a Modron one level lower on the Modron hierarchy. You must kill all the split Modrons in boss Areas.


• Machine Learning — The Modorns have decided to stop bashing their melee weapons against the Champions with no results. All melee Modrons now throw gears at Champions while at range. Champions struck by four gears are stunned for 15 seconds.


• Messenger of Hope — Qillek has a dream that his god has granted him the power to overcome The Great Modron March. Qillek begins the adventure in the formation and cannot be moved. Only Champions within two slots of Qillek can deal any damage.

Year One Variants

• The Neverending March — Every time a Modron is killed in non-boss areas it shuts down for five seconds and then comes back to life with full health.


• (Hu)man vs. Machine — All human Champions get a buff called "The Human Spirit" which increases their damage by 5% in each area (stacking multiplicatively).


• Charge Into Battle — Enemies move extremely fast and deal massive damage to everyone except Evelyn. Evelyn starts the adventure at level 1 and in the front slot of the formation.

It's time for our newest Champion Spotlight! Today, we're previewing and releasing Qillek Ad Khollar. He's an aarakocra cleric/bard and our newest member of the Heroes of Aerois! Aila isn't the only Champion from the High Rollers Aerois campaign any more! Qillek is here to give you a leg up on your upcoming weekly challenges.

Who is Qillek?

Qillek (KEY-lek) or Qill (Quill) to his friends joins the Champions from the High Rollers Aerois campaign. He's a 3-year-old Aarakocra who used to be a part of the Aarakocran Messenger Guild, until a visit to the Valley of Storms and an accident led to the loss of his left arm and wing. While he lost his ability to fly, he also found his god H'esper. With the divine powers granted from H'esper, Qill is able to help protect and heal the party. He may be down a wing, but he's got more than enough bravery to make up for it!

Qillek is played by Tom Hazel, a member of The High Rollers D&D crew, based in the UK. The High Rollers stream each week at the High Rollers Twitch page at 5PM BST, or noon Eastern every Sunday. When you want to add Qillek to your formation, you can swap him with Calliope (Slot 5).

Basic Attack

Feather Flurry: Qillek flaps his wing as hard as he can, throwing out a flurry of ethereal purple feathers that damage the two nearest enemies.

Formation Abilities

• Prayer of Healing — Every second, Qillek heals everyone in the formation who is damaged. The amount of healing is based on the distance they are from Qillek, with farther Champions being healed more. Starting at 2 slots away, the healing is increased by 25% per slot, additively. For example, he'll heal adjacent champions for the base value (starting at 8HP but increasing as you level up), but those 2 slots away will be healed for Base+(Base*.25) or 10HP/second. Those 3 slots away will be healed for Base+(Base*.5) or 12HP/second. And so on. The farther away he is from those taking damage, the more he'll heal them!


• Bless — Increases the damage of Champions adjacent to Qillek based on the number of Champions NOT adjacent to Qillek. This is another bonus that can be maximized if he's off in a corner of the back row. The damage increase starts at a 50% boost per non-adjacent Champion, additively. Additionally, the effect of Bless is increased by the total Aerois Synergy Pool (see below)


• Aerois Synergy — We're introducing a new affiliation boon for the Heroes of Aerois! There will be a pool created when either Qillek or Aila (blog updated) is in your formation and has the Aerois Synergy upgrade unlocked. The pool is noted as the Aerois Synergy Pool. Heroes of Aerois contribute to the pool based on how well they're performing in the formation, and then one or more of their abilities are buffed by a percentage of that total pool. The more Heroes of Aerois Champions you have in the formation, the higher the pool, and the higher the buffs to each Champions' ability!
  
  You can see what the pool total is by viewing the formation buffs for each Champion once they unlock their Synergy formation ability. The details of Qillek's contributions are listed below. For him, Bless is increased by a percentage of the total Aerois Synergy Pool.

Specializations

• Expanded Blessing — Take this specialization route if your DPS slot is better positioned away from him, or you have multiple DPS spots and want to maximize how much he is affecting the whole party.


• Empowered Blessing — Take this specialization route if you have a formation where there are an abundance of champions 2 spots away and you want to maximize your Bless buff for those adjacent!

Ultimate Attack

Calm Emotions! — Qillek takes a deep breath and casts Calm Emotions, raining ethereal purple feathers down on the screen. All enemies take damage and then attack 3x less often (their attack cooldown is multiplied by 3) for 30 seconds. The boss/enemy enrage timer also fills 3x slower for 30 seconds.

Qillek is a skilled healer and support champion that should do well in formations where you don't want to waste a spot near your tank to heal! He'll get even better if you use him with Aila, a fellow Hero of Aerois.

Hopelessly Lost

After following their quarry into Waterdeep's sewers, the Champions have become lost in Undermountain. It's going to take everything they have to try and find their way back out again!

• Variant: Bazaar Exploits — Two Goblins accompany the Champions, taking up spots in the formation. Every 25 Areas the two Goblins change their location. While attacking Xanathar Guild enemies, Champions' damage is increased.

Enter the Sargauth

The Champions are on the hunt, looking for a way to Skullport - after all, they have a stone to find - but something else is already on the hunt for them...

• Variant: Elder Rune Madness — Each time you enter the portal, a different Elder Rune takes effect for the next 50 Areas. These Elder Runes vary in effects from Champions taking damage whenever monsters spawn to random debuffs, monsters dropping less gold, and Champions being unable to regain hit points or gain shields. Good luck!

The EIGHTH annual Grow-A-Thon has returned to the Commons! Whack the bushes and gather their bounty so that you can plant flowers and trees in the Event area to make yourself a gorgeous garden. Impress the judges every 20 hours to earn Spring tokens to buy this year’s Custom Items. You need to impress the previous judge to get a rating from the next one.

Plus, fill your magnificent garden with critters! There are 5 to get throughout the event, starting with the Squirrel today! You can send out requests for a free one. On platforms without, you get a free one when the animal unlocks from the animal vendor! The tool-tip when you hover the critter in the store has their unlock date!

• How can I find the seeds?
  Just keep whacking. The Holiday Item runes and pets will help attract them as well.


• How do I grow plants?
  There are the planters outside the garden to grow flowers in. If you click on them, you can see the plant store. Each plant has a different cost and grow time to get you your event progress points. You start with 4 free planters.


• Is it good to buy extra planters for growing the plants?
  If you have the seeds to spare and prefer to plant long-growing plants, then yes, it’s worth it.


• How do I get the Decorator achievement?
  If you go into the gardening area, the store button ($) has a selection of garden decorating items, where you can find the planter styles and watering can. These items also cost seeds.


• What are the possible seed combinations for Farmer MacDonald’s quest?
  You can choose seeds that grow either Energy or Gold, and then choose between 20, 15, 4, and 3 hours of growth time.


• Why do my custom seeds cost Gold to plant?
  You created the combination, which is unlocked until they expire. Just like normal plants, they cost Gold for planting. We don't award a flat number of seeds, because not all players have the same amount of farm plots. This way, you get to choose how many you end up growing. :)
  
• Why don’t my custom seeds last longer?
  Because they're OP! Enjoy them while they last. :)


• How do I please the judges?
  Just keep growing plants. As your event progress increases, you will impress the judges more and more. You DO NOT need to place them in your garden if you don't wish to. The plants still count for progress.


• Does the Timey-Wimey watch or Time Turner affect the judges?
  No, judges do not have quest cooldowns, so trinket effects that work for quests will not apply to them.


• What adds to my event progress?
  Growing plants worth points and completing the side quests. To get the points from your plants, you don't even need to place them in your garden! Just grow them!


• Do I have to do the achievements?
  No. Completing the goals for the achievements is totally optional. You get either a large energy pack or a title for your character from them, no event progress.


• Where can I see all the achievements available and how to get them?
  Either on the holiday dialog, the achievements dialog, or on the blog.

While armies assemble and the song begins, you still don't know who'll end up on the throne in the end -- but you do know that Holddoor, a giant, hulking, half-frozen orc, will help you get the job done. It's time for A Song of Thrones!

A Song of Thrones 4 introduces Holddoor, and Leerion, the Royal Dwarf, Brogon, Prince of Dragons, RoboQueen, Zombie Winter, and The Wolf King! The party ends on Tuesday, May 21st, 2019 at 12:00PM PDT!

New Tier 4 Crusader: Holddoor

Where once he may have had the chance to live a normal life, thanks to some tinkering of the fates it seems that it is now Holddoor's destiny to hold the door — only now, he won't let it go!

Holddoor is a Tank Crusader who supports the party by standing at the front of the formation and holding the door against all enemies. Monsters are drawn to him through his Focus ability, and once there are at least 15 of them he will Stand Strong and start to heal himself. He increases DPS with Protection, gains damage reduction when he becomes Scarred, and is able to dramatically increase DPS through his Loyalty and Hold the Door abilities. And did we mention there's a Paradox where Holddoor will cause White Runners to appear, run into enemies, and explode?

Crusaders Return

If you haven't collected them already, you can unlock previous Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 Crusaders by completing their respective objectives. Leerion, the Royal Dwarf, Brogon, Prince of Dragons, RoboQueen, Zombie Winter, and The Wolf King are all once again available to unlock!

• Armies on the Move | Dragons and Horsefolk escorts occupy slots in the formation and move every 50 areas. Each monster killed in an area reduces DPS. The dragon damages the column in front of it. Horsefolk reduce the DPS for adjacent Crusaders. Reach area 750.


• Winter is Here | All the monsters are White Runners, which are faster, tougher, and deal more damage. Only Evil Crusaders do DPS. Reach area 800.


• Plot-Focused Episode | Naked monsters appear. They can only be damaged by projectiles, explosions, and active abilities. Naked monsters also deal damage to all Crusaders adjacent to the one they attack. Reach area 850.

The "C" Team Weekly Challenges FAQ

What is this?

The "C" Team Weekly Challenges are ten weeks of weekly activities that coincide with the latest arc of The "C" Team tabletop stream. For the next ten weeks you'll be able to complete Challenges, earn rewards, and vote to influence the events of The "C" Team episodes each Wednesday at 4PM PDT.

What are Challenges?

Challenges are in-game tasks that you can complete to earn points. Challenges come in a variety of difficulties, with corresponding point values for each. New challenges unlock every week. Each Challenge is available to complete for the two weeks after it unlocks, with some exceptions (see below). After two weeks any unfinished Challenges will no longer be completable. There are two special types of Challenge each week: Omin's Challenge, and the Daily Challenge.

What is Omin's Challenge?

Omin's Challenge, when completed in the current week, grants not only a bunch of points but also the ability to vote in the poll to influence the events of the next episode of The "C" Team! If you complete Omin's Challenge after a new week of Challenges have unlocked, it will not grant the ability to vote, but it will still give you a boat-load of points. Once unlocked, you can vote in the poll once per day (resetting at noon PDT each day).

What is the Daily Challenge?

Daily Challenges can be completed multiple times per week (once a day, resetting at noon PDT each day). Daily Challenges update each week, and only the current week's Daily Challenge is available.

What can I earn from Challenges?

Each Challenge awards a certain number of points. Points can be redeemed for a fixed set of rewards. Each reward requires you to have collected a certain number of points. Your points are not consumed when you redeem rewards, so if you have an available reward, claim it! Milestone rewards appear every 350 points, and include Gold Chests, a unique outfit for Asharra, a Golden Epic for Donaar (which also unlocks Donaar if you don't already have him), and a Potion of Polish (upgrades a random piece of gear to Shiny).

Where can I watch "C" Team episodes?

Acquisitions Incorporated: The "C" Team broadcasts every week on Wednesday at 4pm PDT on the Penny Arcade twitch channel at twitch.tv/pennyarcade. You can view the archives on the same channel.



Donaar commands you to collect Chronaar!

The Dungeon Kitties are back, and they need your help training monsters for the upcoming Tournament of Ten Eyes!

Head to the event area in the Commons, pick a monster, and start training! You'll get a Bush Buck for every level your chosen monster gets, and can complete training quests for extra pet xp every 15 hours.

The tournament starts at noon on Tuesday May 7th, and you'll have until noon on Wednesday May 8th to see how your monster fared! You'll have to return your monster afterwards, unless you adopt it by purchasing its corresponding pet pack.

It's hard to believe that this campaign went live back in December 2016 but here we are 2.5 years later and we're still going strong — so strong, in fact, that we've added some brand-new Tier 4 Objectives to the Amusement Park of Doom campaign!

Amusement Park of Doom Tier 4 Objectives

• Roller Coaster - A camera monster spawns to take your picture to commemorate the moment. While the camera is alive, the DPS doesn't change. Reach Area 900.


• Carousel - The highest two available bench slots (wrapping around) disable the dps and abilities of adjacent Crusaders. Reach Area 900.


• Log Ride - DPS takes longer to recover, but Tank Crusaders recover theirs instantly. Invincible towel monsters spawn at random. Reach Area 950.


• Ferris Wheel of Doom - Each rotation a random rotated slot doesn’t have its DPS and FAs disabled and a random non-rotated slot is turned into a tentacle, disabling their DPS and FAs. Reach Area 1000.


• The House of Horrors - A powerful zombie monster spawns after each blackout. Reach Area 1000.


• Mauled By Mascots - Two mascots occupy spaces in formation. If they die, all the mascot monsters on screen die. Reach Area 1050.


• Couples Day - Only the Crusaders on the top row of the bench can be used. Reach Area 1100.
