COTLI: Idols Through Time, Tier 4 Objectives

It's time to move through the ages again, as the Idols Through Time campaign is updated with Tier 4 versions of its objectives!

Not only do you have to tackle the obstacles introduced in the previous three tiers, but we've added these extra layers of diabolic blockers!

Idols Through Time Tier 4 Objectives

  • Don't Blink - A literal doctor takes up a slot in the formation and reduces the DPS of adjacent Crusaders by 100% while you travel to area 1000.

  • Lost In Time - The relics blocking the slots now move around the formation every 50 areas and the reductions in DPS and Gold are increased to 90%. Reach area 1000.

  • Time-Lost Bosses - When a boss is killed, now FOUR Crusaders have their DPS and Formation Abilities disabled for 15 seconds. Reach area 1050.

  • Nostalgia Trip - Only the first 10 Crusaders are available to use. The reset ability is moved to Artaxes, the Lion. Reach area 1050.

  • Echoes - Reach area 1100 with only 2 formation slots available at the end, due to the ever increasing amount of Echoes in your formation.

  • Hamstrung - You cannot use Crusaders with the Supernatural tag, in addition to the other restricted tags, as you reach area 1100.

  • The Lost World - A sedated T-rex takes up a slot in your formation and must be escorted safely to the end. Unfortunately, if you don't beat an area in under 30 seconds, he goes on a rampage and kills all your Crusaders, sending you back one area. Reach area 1150 with your cranky guest.

  • Atrophy - The damage and gold reduction is now 4% per second, as you strive to reach area 1200.

New Tier 4 Objectives & Weekend Buff!

Okay, so you thought you were all that and bag chips, did you? Well, we have news for you. Today we launch 12 new Tier 4 objectives for both the World's Wake and Descent into Darkness campaigns.

These new very challenging objectives are going to keep even the most advanced Crusaders players working hard to complete them.

For those of you who have just joined us, we should supply you with a quick recap! First of all, you're going to need to know more about Tier 4 Talents, so you should read this blog post. Once you're up to speed, you'll need to use your idols to buy the Tier 4 Talent Fourth Time's The Charm in the Utility tree, and hey presto! Once you've beaten any Tier 3 objective, you'll now see the new Tier 4 objectives that are available.

Here's a preview of some of the new objectives:

Run Away! Tier 4

In addition to the tier 1, 2, and 3 requirements, Crusaders with the support tag can no longer be used and you must beat area 700.

Holy Hand Grenade Tier 4

The monks now move around the formation until you beat area 750.

Grond! Grond! Grond! Tier 4

Defenders of the Realm attack your formation, trying to destroy Grond. Don't let them! Beat area 750.

Demolition Derby Tier 4

Walking bombs now spawn. Don't let them reach you while you work to beat area 850.

These are just four of the 12 new Tier 4 objectives for both Worlds Wake and Descent into Darkness. We're looking forward to seeing how you get on with them.

To help you through the tough new Tier 4 objectives, there's a weekend buff. The following Crusaders will get a buff this weekend starting from today until 12 pm PDT on Monday July 31st.

Update! Tier Four Talents Are Here!

We are delighted to announce that Tier 4 Talents are finally in-game. Thanks for being patient as we worked on them behind the scenes. There was a lot of blood, sweat, and tears that went into making sure they are going to provide both a challenge and a benefit to you.

As a reminder for our new players, or for those who have yet to discover Talents, these are unique additional features and powers that are available in exchange for Idols. As ever, the criteria to unlocking the tier talents is dependent on you beating a specific area. For Tier 4 talents you're going to need to beat area 900 in any campaign!

You won't lose any DPS or Gold gains when you exchange your Idols. You'll always keep your total DPS and Gold bonuses in keeping with the number of Idols you've earned since you started playing.

You can read more about the first Talents we launched last year here, the Tier 2 update here, and the Tier 3 update here.

Also, we teased the new Talents earlier in the week here. All caught up? Good. Here are the details for the new Tier 4 Talents:

The eight new Tier 4 talents are:

Extended Spawns

(Active Tree)

Spawn Speed cards last 5% longer (5% per point for 40 levels, up to 200% longer).

Click-tasrophy

(Active Tree)

Successive clicks increase Click Damage by 1% per click up to a cap of 10% and lasts for 30 seconds from last click (10% per point for 40 levels, up to 400% more click damage).

Instant Satisfaction

(Active Tree)

Active Abilities have a 10% chance to instantly cooldown when used (10% for first point, 2% per point after that for 21 levels, up to a 50% chance).

Legendary Benefits

(Passive Tree)

Increases the DPS of all Crusaders by 1% for each Legendary item you own (additive) (1% per point for 50 levels, up to 50% per legendary item - i.e. 1200% if you have 24 Legendaries and the talent maxed).

Codename And Extra Life
Posted in Codename News.

What is Extra Life?

Extra Life is a fun program set up to raise donations for Children's Miracle Network hospitals. Money raised gets donated as unrestricted funds, for the hospitals to use as needed. What's awesome is that you can help by doing what you normally do: game! For more information from the Extra Life program itself, click here.

What's the Plan?

For us at Codename, our donations will be going to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation. Last year, we went the extra mile by inadvertently surviving 25 hours and beating our initial goal of $3000 by raising just shy of $7000!

This year, we're starting with a modest team goal of $1000, but Clive is determined to raise that all by himself with his promise to be in a full Princess outfit for the entire twitch stream. To donate to our team, you can visit here. To find a staff member with a reward you'd like, you can click on the "Roster" button.

We've set aside time on the weekend of Saturday November 21 from 10am PST through Sunday November 22nd at 10am PST for our 24 hours of gaming fun. We'll be taking turns in shifts to play games and chat with our viewers and you can watch it all on our Twitch! We hope to make our fundraising goal while the live broadcast is happening, but you can donate before and after!

For those staff members whose goals require doing things on Stream, as we get closer to this weekend, we'll have a rough idea of when you can see them!

Generation 4 PETS and a Sale!
Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Overrun with Tigers and Wolves and Giraffes, oh my? The new Generation 4 pets are here!

Misty's new shipment of pet eggs has finally made it to Bushwhackia for you to hatch when you accept the "Find an Egg" quest. She will also have all the Generation 4 eggs available to purchase for Bush Bucks during the "Find an Egg" quest.

Other changes to Misty and Hank for Generation 4:
  • Misty will no longer let players abandon Gen 3 pet eggs that they are hatching (they're now too rare). Only current generation pet eggs can be abandoned during hatching. Please note that if you're in the middle of hatching a pet, then that egg will still hatch into whatever pet it would have been before.

  • Generation 3 pet eggs can now be found in Quester's Satchels (with the same limitations as the Generation 1 and 2 eggs, which will still be available in satchels as well). Generation 3 pet eggs are now more expensive to buy with DNA in the PAGAS store.

  • Hank now sells a random assortment of Generation 4 pets (instead of Generation 3) for Bush Bucks.

PAGAS changes for Generation 4:
  • Generation 4 pet eggs are now available to buy with DNA in the PAGAS store, however you cannot buy any of them until you have at least five (5) Generation 4 pets.

  • The Pet Progress dialog now includes Generation 4 pets. 10 new pets that all players can unlock!

And now, without further ado, the information you've all been waiting for:

Generation 4 Pets:
  • Black and White Palomino Pony
  • Butterfly
  • Cobra
  • Dragonfly
  • Ferret
  • Orange Kitty
  • Otter
  • Polar Bear
  • Salamander
  • Snail

2015 Spring Pet Sale!

  • Over the next five (5) days we will rotate through 40 pets from a variety of sources.
  • Each pet will be available for a limited time and will only appear once in the sale (so if you see a pet you want, make sure you grab it!),
  • As each pet is made available, we'll post a reminder on Facebook, Twitter and in Chat (during normal business hours), so you'll know when the pets will swap in/out,
  • All pets are available for Bush Bucks.
  • *New for this sale* For 24 hours, you can vote for which pet will get the biggest discount in the next 24 hours.
    • So the first voting cycle will run from Friday March 20th at Noon PDT until Saturday March 21st at Noon PDT, and the discounts will be applied for the winning pet until the next vote ends Sunday March 22nd at Noon PDT.
