Champion Update: Krond

    Krond was born of a union between an academic human wizard and a mighty orc fighter who led a nomadic orc community. Raised as a fearsome warrior and arcane scholar, he studied these arts with equal passion. Krond's parents tragically lost their lives protecting their family and friends during an enemy raid. This moment changed Krond, and he swore revenge upon the world. Taking up an ancestral warhammer called Unity, Krond set out to make things right, one way or another.
Krond has been reworked to become a true Support, greatly increasing his versatility, while still allowing him to be a DPS Champion.

Abilities

Basic Attack

  • War Magic (melee) - Krond leaps out and attacks the front-most target with his bonded warhammer. If you have a Cantrip Feat equipped, he then casts the given Cantrip.

Passive

  • Cantrip Feats: Krond can equip a single Cantrip Feat at a time, adding that spell to his base attack. Krond's Cantrips are Fire Bolt, Shocking Grasp, and Thunderclap, with each getting stronger Feat versions at Rare and eventually Epic. When you acquire the stronger versions of the Feats, they will replace the lower-level versions.

Formation Abilities

  • Unsung Alliance - Krond increases the damage of all Champions by 100% for each Evil Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Best of the Best - Krond increases the effect of Unsung Alliance by 10% for each point of INT over 16 on every Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

Specializations A

  • Survival of the Strongest - Krond increases the effect of Unsung Alliance by 100% for each Champion in the formation with a STR score of 16 or higher, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Survival of the Fittest - Krond increases the effect of Unsung Alliance by 100% for each Champion in the formation with a CON score of 16 or higher, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Survival of the Smartest - Krond increases the effect of Unsung Alliance by 100% for each Champion in the formation with an INT score of 16 or higher, stacking multiplicatively.

Specializations B

  • Eldritch Strike - Krond gains the Debuff role and enemies damaged by Krond take an additional 400% damage from all of his subsequent attacks, including any Cantrip spells.
  • Power Behind the Throne - Krond increases the effect of Unsung Alliance by 400% when he is not the formation's BUD-setting Champion.
  • War Magic - Krond's Cantrip Feats now deal damage equal to 5 seconds of BUD-based damage for each 100% of Krond's base damage that they normally deal.

Ultimate Ability

  • Arcane Charge (magic) - Krond throws down his warhammer and leaps up into the air, teleporting to a random enemy and causing massive area damage by slamming down to the ground and casting Shatter when he appears.

    Hank is the steadfast and courageous leader of the group of friends that has been swept away into the perilous realm of Dungeons & Dragons. As the Ranger, he wields his signature Energy Bow to fend off danger and light the way forward. Though the weight of leadership tests him at every turn, Hank’s tactical insight and unwavering resolve keep the party moving forward in their quest to find a way back home.
Hank is a Support and Control Champion who leads a bunch of kids who have been swept away to the world of Dungeons & Dragons. Hank's stalwart encouragement buffs the damage of Champions next to him, and his unerring Energy Bow keeps the enemies away.

Basic Attack

  • Energy Bow (ranged) - Hank attacks the closest enemy, dealing 1 hit. (They are also knocked back once the Energy Bow ability is unlocked.)

Formation Abilities

  • Stalwart Encouragement - Hank increases the damage of Champions adjacent to him by 100%.
  • Energy Bow - Enemies that Hank hits are knocked back. The distance they're knocked back increases the closer they are to the formation.
  • Time Gate Piece Scavenger - Hank can help scavenge up to 5 additional Time Gate Pieces when killing bosses. While this cap is not reached, Hank has a 1% chance of scavenging 1 Time Gate Piece each time a boss is defeated. The cap increases by 1/3 every day.
  • Every Little Bit Helps - Hank increases the effect of Stalwart Encouragement by 10% for each item that has ever been collected by Scavenger abilities, stacking additively.

Specializations A

  • Heart of Heroes - Hank increases the damage bonus of Stalwart Encouragement by 100% for each Champion in the formation with a total ability score of 78 or less, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Arrow Alliance - Hank increases the damage bonus of Stalwart Encouragement by 125% for each Champion in the formation with a Ranged attack, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Unyielding Unity - Hank increases the damage bonus of Stalwart Encouragement by 200% for each member of the Saturday Morning Squad in the formation, stacking multiplicatively. This also adds the Saturday Morning Squad affiliation to Dungeon Master.

Specializations B

  • Tactical Advantage - Whenever an enemy is knocked back, Hank gains a Tactics stack. For each Tactics stack, the Critical Hit Chance of all Champions in the formation is increased by 1%, and the Critical Hit Damage of all Champions in the formation is increased by 10%. Tactics stacks stack additively up to 50 times and reset when changing areas.
  • Dragon Slayer - Hank gains the Hunter role with Dragons as his Favored Foe. Non-boss waves spawn a Dragon 50% of the time. Stalwart Encouragement’s effect is increased by 100% for each Dragon defeated in the current area, stacking multiplicatively up to 10 times. In boss areas, non-boss waves always spawn a dragon, and defeated dragons provide 5 stacks.

Ultimate Ability

  • Arrows of Restraint (ranged) - Hank fires 5 arrows at random enemies, dealing 1 ultimate hit and stunning each of them.

New Champion: Windfall

    A dedicated champion of Tiamat, Windfall has been granted phenomenal power by her master. She is the proprietor of the Red Belvedere, a monument to Tiamat and a remnant of Avernus's original existence as a bucolic paradise designed to tempt mortals. Its edifice was destroyed in the carnage of the Blood War, but Windfall rebuilt the casino and rededicated it to the Dragon Queen as a celebration of her god's greed and vanity. Windfall is ostentatious and charismatic, making small talk with regular patrons and jovially welcoming new faces to the casino. She once plotted to assemble the Rod of Seven Parts to create a gift for her cruel goddess, but has instead joined the Champions at Tiamat's behest.

SURPRISE! We're excited to introduce the 150th Champion released in Idle Champions - The Evergreen Champion Windfall! You can unlock Windfall by completing an upcoming Vecna: Eve of Ruin campaign variant starting May 28th, 2025!

Windfall is a DPS, Support, and Gold Find Champion found in the second variant of the adventure "The Rod of Seven Parts" in the Vecna: Eve of Ruin campaign. She buffs the damage of all Champions in the longest column in the formation, and her attacks take on the draconic essence of the chromatic dragon of your choice.

  • Dragon's Pride - Windfall increases the effect of The Long Game by 20% for each adventure, variant, and Patron variant you have completed in the Vecna: Eve of Ruin campaign, stacking multiplicatively.

Specializations

  • Red Dragon's Greed - Windfall tries to avoid attacking enemies that don't drop gold or count for quest progress. Her normal attacks light her target on fire, dealing 3 seconds of BUD-based damage to the enemy every second for 5 seconds.
  • Blue Dragon's Spark - Windfall gains the Control role and she prefers to attack stunned enemies. Her normal attacks are charged with lightning, striking out at up to two other random enemies, dealing 5 seconds of BUD-based damage to them, and stunning all enemies damaged for 3 seconds.
  • Green Dragon's Spite - Windfall prefers to attack the farthest target. Her normal attacks exude a small cloud of poisonous gas around the target for 10 seconds. Enemies in the gas cloud take 2 seconds of BUD-based damage every second while they are in the area.
  • Black Dragon's Corrosion - Windfall gains the Breaker role and she prefers to attack armored or hits-based enemies. Her normal attacks coat the target in Acid, dealing 10 seconds of BUD-based damage and all successful attacks against those targets break an additional piece of armored or segmented health.
  • White Dragon's Chill - Windfall gains the Control role and she prefers to attack slowed enemies. Her normal attacks create a medium cloud of icy air for 5 seconds around the target. Enemies in the cloud take 1 second of BUD-based damage every second while they are in the area and are slowed by 50%.

Ultimate Ability

  • Stunning Scintillation (melee) - Windfall's blinding coat erupts in a scintillating flash, dealing 1 ultimate hit to all enemies, stunning and then slowing them.

    When Yorven came across the Witchlight Carnival he managed to convince the owners to bring him on board. When the Witchlight Carnival returned to the Feywild years later, Yorven moved on, seeking his childhood home - and the hags who banished him.

  • Blood Fury Tattoo - Yorven gains a Blood Fury stack for each enemy that has been damaged in the current area. His damage is increased by 100% for each Blood Fury stack, stacking multiplicatively. Bosses provide 15 stacks when they are damaged. Caps at 25 stacks.
  • Danger Sense - All Champions take 5 less damage from all attacks, and Rag Tag Team is increased by 500% each time Yorven's max health is doubled, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Down The Rabbit Hole - Yorven increases the effect of Rag Tag Team by 20% for each adventure, variant, and Patron variant you have completed in the Wild Beyond the Witchlight campaign, stacking multiplicatively.

Specializations

  • Hunger For Blood - Yorven's damage is increased by 1000% and if an enemy dies while he is attacking it with Ferocious Maul, he immediately leaps to another enemy and begins attacking that one. This adds one additional attack to Ferocious Maul each time it triggers.
  • Eldritch Claw Tattoo - Each time Yorven Springpaw attacks during Ferocious Maul, an inky tendril of Eldritch energy shoots out and zaps a different random enemy, dealing 1 second of BUD-based damage. The amount is increased by 400% if Yorven is the BUD-setting Champion. If no other enemies are on screen, this ability does nothing.
  • Follow The Mad Rabbit - Yorven's Rag Tag Team is increased by 50% for each Blood Fury stack Yorven has.
  • Infectious Fury - Yorven gains the Debuff role and any enemy he has attacked takes 100% additional damage from all Champions each time it attacks a member of the formation, stacking multiplicatively up to 25 times.

Ultimate Ability

  • Fey Wild Shape - Yorven Springpaw wild shapes into a shadow mastiff-like creature for 30 seconds. During this time his attack cooldown is reduced by 2.5 seconds, and their damage is increased by 400%.

New Champion: Vlithryn

    Ever since she was a hatchling in her kingdom under the sea, Vlithryn has dreamt of helping the less fortunate land dwellers and spreading the good word of her God, Persana. She’s always willing to lend a helping hand, or a healing word, to those who need it - for the right price of course. She is usually cool, calm, and collected, but don’t get on her bad side, or her banshee scream and lighting attacks will leave you begging for a revivify that you can’t afford.

Vlithryn is a Support, Healing, and Control Champion who came to the surface world to help the unfortunate land dwellers. This devout follower of the deity Persana boosts the damage of Champions in front of her, heals the most injured ally every second, and can revive fallen Champions in moments of dire need.

Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Blessed Mace (melee) - Vlithryn attacks a random enemy, dealing 1 hit and knocking them back a short distance.

Formation Abilities

  • Justice of the Depths - Vlithryn increases the damage of all Champions in the columns in front of her by 400%.
  • Cleric Clinic - Every second, Vlithryn heals the 3 most damaged Champion for 20 health. This amount is increased by 25% for each Tanking Champion in the formation.
  • Pantheon of Blessings - Vlithryn increases the effect of Justice of the Depths by 10% for each Global Tier Blessing you have unlocked, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Revivify - When a Champion is defeated, Vlithryn consumes a Revivify charge and screams in frustration, pushing back all enemies a short distance. She then casts Revivify and heals the defeated Champion, bringing them back to life at full health. Vlithryn's Revivify charges are equal to the number of Awful Ones in the formation and reset upon changing areas. The effect of Justice of the Depths is increased by 400% for each Revivify charge used in the current area, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Divine Intervention - Vlithryn gains one Dire Straits stack every time she effectively heals a Champion with Cleric Clinic. When she reaches 30 stacks, Persana appears and blesses her with the following:

    - Revivify immediately gains an additional charge
    - Justice of the Depths is increased by 10% for each Dire Straits stack, stacking multiplicatively
    - The healing amount of Cleric Clinic is increased by 10% for each Dire Straits stack, stacking additively.

    Dire Straits stacks continue to increase after Persana appears, up to a maximum of 100. Upon changing areas, Vlithryn loses up to 25 Dire Strait stacks, and if her stacks drop below 30, Persana disappears, taking his blessings with him.

Specializations

  • Who Else Would Save Them? - Vlithryn increases Justice of the Depths' damage bonus by 200% for every Champion in the formation with an INT score of 12 or lower, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Help the Unfortunate - Vlithryn increases Justice of the Depths' damage bonus by 300% for each Champion in the formation with a total ability score of 78 or lower, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Spreading the Word - Vlithryn increases Justice of the Depths' damage bonus by 300% for each unique Species in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

Ultimate Ability

  • Call Lightning (magic) - Vlithryn zaps the enemy with the most remaining Health and then empowers her attack with lightning for 15 seconds, increasing her attack speed and adding BUD-based damage.

    Beadle may not have the strength of his best friend Grimm, but his quick wit and sharp instincts have saved the day more times than he can count. Whether managing the Giant’s Bane Tavern or outsmarting enemies, Beadle brings cunning to every adventure.

Beadle is a cunning Support, Gold Find, and Control Champion with powerful synergies when paired with his best friend, Grimm. He boosts nearby Champions' damage, steals extra gold from enemies while stunning them, and his support scales with a specialization choice tailored to your Champions' gear.

This month, we're taking the previously single Champion Beadle & Grimm, and moving them to different seats to create two separate Champions! Both Champions have been reworked, allowing you to now field powered-up versions of both Beadle and his buddy Grimm in your formation at the same time! There are some small housekeeping notes since this is such a unique rebalance:
  • Existing skins will be separated and credited to both Champions Beadle and Grimm (once you unlock him).
  • Equipment & Item Levels on the former Beadle and Grimm Champion will transfer to the new Beadle.

Basic Attack

  • Magic Wand (melee/magic) - Beadle bonks a random enemy with a wand. This unleashes two magic missiles that fly out and hit two other random enemies.

Passive Abilities

  • Inseparable - Beadle & Grimm are so inseparable that if either one qualifies for an adventure restriction based on their tags, ages, ability scores, etc., then both can be used.

Formation Abilities

  • Brothers In Armors - If Grimm is in the formation, all of Beadle's equipment item levels are increased by Grimm's base average item level.
  • In The Shadows - Beadle increases the damage of Champions within 2 slots of himself by 400%, and enemies that hit targets affected by this have a 20% chance to miss.
  • Sticky Fingers - Whenever Beadle attacks an enemy, he causes it to immediately drop 20% of the gold it would award on death. The enemy then stops and checks its pockets, stunning it for 2 seconds. This can only occur to each enemy 5 times.
  • Share The Glory - Most positional formation abilities that affect Beadle also affect Grimm if he is in the formation. If Grimm is already affected by the same ability, Beadle instead increases the effect of In The Shadows by 800%.
  • Ultimate Tag Team - When Grimm uses his ultimate ability in the same party as Beadle, Beadle's ultimate ability goes on cooldown and he gains one Tag Team stack. For each Tag Team stack Beadle has, his ultimate cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds, and his next ultimate attack deals 200% more damage, stacking multiplicatively. Tag Team stacks cap at 10 and reset when Beadle uses his ultimate ability.

Specializations

  • Epic Equipment - The effect of In The Shadows is increased by 20% for each piece of Epic or better equipment on Champions in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Premium Gear - The effect of In The Shadows is increased by 0.075% for every item level on your formation's Champions' equipment, stacking multiplicatively. Each individual Champion can contribute at most 1,800 stacks.
  • Shiniest Loot - The effect of In The Shadows is increased by 30% for each piece of Shiny or Golden equipment on Champions in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

Ultimate Ability

  • Arcane Strike (magic) - Beadle teleports and blasts all enemies with arcane magic, dealing ultimate damage and stunning them.

  • Get Buff - Each time Grimm attacks an enemy, his base attack cooldown is reduced by 0.2 seconds and he deals 20% more damage, stacking up to 25 times. Damage bonus stacks multiplicatively, while the base attack cooldown stacks additively. Stacks reset upon changing areas unless Moving Right Along is triggered.
  • Break Their Will - Each time Grimm attacks an enemy and breaks at least one armor or segmented health, he breaks 1 more on all subsequent attacks, stacking additively up to 5 times. Stacks reset upon changing areas unless Moving Right Along is triggered.
  • Moving Right Along - If the party completes a new area within 15 seconds of entering it, Grimm's Get Buff and Break Their Will stacks do not reset upon entering the next area.
  • Barbarian's Protection - Grimm increases the health of all other Champions by 25% of his max health and any healing effect on those Champions is increased by 25%.
  • Ultimate Tag Team - When Beadle uses his ultimate ability in the same party as Grimm, Grimm's ultimate ability goes on cooldown and he gains one Tag Team stack. For each Tag Team stack Grimm has, his ultimate cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds, and his next ultimate attack deals 200% more damage, stacking multiplicatively. Tag Team stacks cap at 10 and reset when Grimm uses his ultimate ability.

Specializations

  • Giant Hunter - Grimm gains the Hunter role, and Giants become his Favored Foe. Grimm deals 10000% more damage against his Favored Foe, and all boss enemies also count as Giants for the purposes of all abilities that care about such things.
  • Giant Taunter - Grimm taunts all enemies he attacks, causing them to switch targets and attack him. For each enemy that has attacked him in the current area, his damage is increased by 20%, stacking multiplicatively up to 100 times.
  • Giant Profits - Grimm gains the Gold Find role. Enemies that Grimm defeats drop 50% additional gold for each enemy he has defeated in the current area, stacking multiplicatively and capping at 20.

Ultimate Ability

  • One-on-One (melee) - Grimm attacks the enemy with the most health and knocks back other enemies in a small area. In non boss areas, a Frost Giant spawns in revenge.

New Champion: Sheila  
Posted in Idle Champions.

    Sheila is the compassionate heart of a group of young friends whisked away to the magical world of Dungeons & Dragons. She reluctantly took on the role of Thief, using her Cloak of Invisibility to move unseen. Sensitive and loyal, Sheila strives to keep her loved ones safe, especially her younger brother, Bobby. Her supportive spirit is a powerful force as they journey together in search of a way back home.
Sheila is a Support and Debuff Champion whose kind heart supports all Good-aligned Champions in the formation. Her magical Cloak of Invisibility allows her to attack unseen, weakening enemy coordination and increasing her allies' critical hit chance and damage. She occasionally collects Potion Reagents when bosses are defeated, allowing you to brew potions. The Apothecary system will be launching on March 12! We'll have more information about it in an upcoming blog.

  • Enraging Strike - Sheila's base and ultimate attacks enrage her targets. The damage enraged enemies take increases by 15% every 2 seconds, stacking multiplicatively up to 30 times. The stacks reset when the enemy takes out their anger by attacking a Champion.

Known for his bombastic personality and flair for storytelling, Volo has a knack for turning facts into tall tales. Champion Update: Ishi  
Posted in Idle Champions.

    Ishi Snaggletooth hails from a warren of Kobolds living in the sewers under Baldur's Gate. Always the type to be more curious than careful, she accidentally stowed away on a ship headed to Port Nyanzaru. There, she met her dear friend, the Firbolg Littlefox. Often shunned by humans, Ishi hopes to prove herself as a true hero however she can. Ishi's biggest claim to fame is the defeat of the known swordsman, Hershel Von Saberburg, and since that day, she's touted herself as a renowned duelist to anyone who'll listen to her.
It's been a long time since Ishi joined Idle Champions, and on February 12th, 2025, she will be the lucky recipient of a new Rework set to make her a powerful component of non-human formations.

Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Quick Strike (melee) - Ishi attacks the front-most enemy.

Passive Abilities

  • Me First! - Ishi always attacks 0.25 seconds faster than the fastest member of the formation, or every 6 seconds if nobody else is in the formation.

Formation Abilities

  • Monsters Are People Too! - Ishi's damage is increased by 100% for each non-human in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Let's Find Some Treasure - Ishi increases the party's gold find by 100% for each non-human Champion, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Treasure Hunter - Ishi increases the effect of Let's Find Some Treasure by 100% for every 4 seconds it has been since Ishi attacked but did not kill an enemy, stacking multiplicatively up to 15 times.
  • Faster, Harder, Stronger - Ishi keeps track of the number of attacks she has made in the last minute. She increases her damage by 100% for each attack, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Winner Take All - Every day, Ishi gains 5 Duel To The Death stacks. When Ishi has an available Duel To The Death stack and gets the killing blow on a boss that drops a loot sack, there is a 5% chance that she will consume a Duel To The Death stack and claim a piece of that boss's equipment as her own, granting 6 item levels to a piece of her equipment at random. Ishi can store up to 50 Duel To The Death stacks at once.

Specializations

  • Friend to the Familiar - Ishi's damage is increased by 125% for each Aasimar, Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Halfling, and Half-Elf Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Friend to the Feared - Ishi's damage is increased by 150% for each Dragonborn, Goliath, Orc, Tiefling, and Half-Orc Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Friend to the Exceptional - Ishi's damage is increased by 100% for each Champion in the formation that is not a Standard species, stacking multiplicatively. Standard species are Aasimar, Dragonborn, Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Goliath, Halfling, Human, Orc, Tiefling, Half-Orc, and Half-Elf.

Ultimate Ability

  • Confidence Boost - For 30 seconds, Ishi's damage is increased by 100% for each non-human in the formation, stacking multiplicatively. The duration extends when Ishi lands the killing blow on a boss.
