Scholarship Fundraiser in EBA

Hi Breakers!

The season of high school graduation is almost upon us (well, in some parts of the world it is already happening!) As students graduate their minds fill with questions about their future: What should they do now? Can they get a job that they love? Should they continue their studies? These are important questions.

We know that many students really enjoy video games. In fact, they could be considered experts at playing video games and this expertise can be the start of a career in the video game industry. Obviously, students will need more than the ability to play video games, but the passion for playing games is very common in the video game industry.

We want to help students get the skills to work in the video game industry. To this end, we have been working with high schools to provide student work experience opportunities for the past year. We are now working with the video game industry in Victoria to set up scholarships to the University of Victoria (Computer Science) and Camosun College (Graphic Arts). The scholarships help inspired students start their journey towards a career in the video game industry.

To include our players in this, we're having a hat sale! We will donate our share of the proceeds to the scholarship funds!

The Grad Hat adds a small chance your last Star Break was free and 10% more Multipliers!
The Choosing Hat adds 5 more Buff Charges per Buff and 10% more Crates!

Each hat is only $5!

The sale will run until tomorrow, Saturday May 30th at Noon PDT!

Thank you for your support!

Boys and Girls Club Victoria

The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Victoria has been making an impact in the lives of youth and young adults for the past 50 years by providing after-school programs, camps, and support.

In 2008, they helped to establish Pink Shirt Day (February 25th) in British Columbia to promote anti-bullying and it has turned into a national public service announcement.

This year the Boys and Girls Club helped put on Victoria's 4th Annual Youth United Anti-Bullying Film Festival. The films were shown on Pink Shirt Day and youths from their Central Saanich centre managed to win first place. The real power of the festival is seeing youths contribute to the anti-bullying movement and creating shorts for other youths to view.

To support these efforts, Codename Entertainment did a fundraiser on Pink Shirt Day. For each Pink Shirt Hat pack we sold in Egg Breaker Adventures, we donated our share of the proceeds to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Victoria to support their anti-bullying activities in our community.

Today, Kate Mansell from the Boys and Girls Club visited our offices to thank us for our endeavours and share more about their activities. Eric and Peter took a photo with her as well.

For more information on what the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Victoria does or to find out how you can help, visit their website.

Dedicated Pilgrim - Colleen Ireland

Colleen Ireland has received the Dedicated Pilgrim achievement. The requirements for getting this achievement are to visit our offices in Victoria, BC after actively playing our games for five years or more. Colleen dropped by on December 26 for a brief tour (our offices are not large) and chat. Peter and I enjoyed swapping stories with Colleen. She has been playing our Egg Breaker games since the beginning and it was great to hear her perspective on the games. Afterwards, Colleen shared that her visit to our offices was one of the highlights of her trip to Victoria, BC.

Congratulations Colleen on your achievement!
