Idle Champions: Midwinter 6
Posted in Idle Champions.

Deadwinter Day has arrived once again in Longsaddle. While most citizens keep warm in their homes and exchange gifts to celebrate the midpoint of winter with friends and family, the Champions have been hired by the infamous Harpells to patrol the outskirts of town...

Midwinter 6 introduces Fen, the Drow Dhampir Warlock from the Black Dice Society, and brings back Rust on the Habour, hydrophobic Tabaxi rogue and sometimes member of the Oxventure Guild, and Talin Uran, a Combat Wheelchair-using Tiefling Rogue. Players have until Monday, January 23rd at 12 PM Pacific to complete their Midwinter 6 unlocks and objectives.

I. Fen

Dungeons & Dragons Fen Midwinter
This Drow Dhampir Warlock has a touch of mischief and sneakiness, but she's loyal to those she cares for and a fearsome opponent for those who have earned her hate. Above all else, everything Fen has done has been for Isolde's freedom. Now she needs a new purpose to fight for, and maybe she can find it among the Society.

Fen is a DPS and Support Champion, and is the newest Black Dice Society member to join the formation. In addition to buffing the damage of Champions in her row, this Warlock/Rogue increases the attack speed of all Warlocks in the formation. Finally, she's keen to help you finish any Patron challenges you might still be facing. Once unlocked, you can find this Dhampir Drow in Slot 6 opposite Asharra.

For more details on Fen and her abilities, check out her Champion Blog, or her Spotlight Video below!

Year Six Variants

  • Adventure Variant 1: Mirtwinter Day - Patrol the outskirts of Longsaddle on Deadwinter Day with Mirt the Moneylender. Fen joins the formation and can be moved, but not removed. Mirt also joins the formation and only Champions in Mirt's column can deal damage.
    Complete Area 75.

  • Adventure Variant 2: The Wise and the Warlocks - Patrol the outskirts of Longsaddle on Deadwinter Day with the wisest of your Champions. Fen joins the formation and can be moved, but not removed. Vajra and redeemed Zariel also join the formation; they're here for moral support. You may only use Warlocks, Black Dice Society Champions, or Champions with WIS 15+.
    Complete Area 125.

  • Adventure Variant 3: Oh Great, More Mist! - Patrol the outskirts of Longsaddle on Deadwinter Day as the mists of Ravenloft envelop the city. Fen joins the formation and can be moved, but not removed. Since the weather is foggy, you can't use Champions with ranged attacks, except for Desmond. 1-2 zombies spawn with each wave; they don't drop gold or count toward quest progress. Strahd spawns as a second boss in each boss area and he must also be defeated to progress.
    Complete Area 175.

Idle Champions: Midwinter 5
Posted in Idle Champions.

Deadwinter Day has arrived once again in Longsaddle. While most citizens keep warm in their homes and exchange gifts to celebrate the midpoint of winter with friends and family, the Champions have been hired by the infamous Harpells to patrol the outskirts of town...

Midwinter 5 introduces Rust on the Habour, hydrophobic Tabaxi rogue and sometimes member of the Oxventure Guild. Midwinter also brings back Talin Uran, a Combat Wheelchair-using Tiefling Rogue, a Combat Wheelchair-using Tiefling Rogu, and Môrgæn, the High Elf Ranger (Hunter) played by Morgan Webb also on Acquisitions Incorporated. Players have until Monday, January 24th at 12 PM Pacific to complete their Midwinter 5 unlocks and objectives.

I. Rust on the Harbour

Dungeons & Dragons Rust Key Art
Rust on the Harbour is a former pirate who gave up a life at sea because it was far too wet. His deadly skills are in contrast to his sweet nature and short attention span, and he enjoys seeing others succeed even if they are supposed to be antagonists. Now trying life as an adventurer on land, he'll lend his roguish skills to anyone who can give him that which his heart desires most: one gold piece.

Rust is a Support and Gold Find Champion whose excitement to find coin helps the rest of the formation increase their gold find. When you want to add him to your formation you can swap him with Jamilah (Slot 11).

II. Rust's Stats

Race: Tabaxi Alignment: Neutral
Class: Rogue Gender: Male Pronouns: He/Him
Age: 23

STR: 12 DEX: 18 CON: 15
INT: 11 WIS: 12 CHA: 14

Role: Support, Gold Find
Eligible for Patrons: Vajra, Zariel
Slot: 11 (Jamilah)

Dungeons & Dragons Rust

III. Rust's Design

We are fortunate to get to work with a huge variety of live-play D&D series, but it's a rare treat to be able to include the Dungeon Master as one of the Content Creators who bring a Champion to our game. So we're very happy that our third Champion from the Oxventure crew from Outside Xbox and Outside Xtra comes from DM Johnny Chiodini! They created Rust as their character for a Saltmarsh campaign, and brought the supportive tabaxi in as an NPC for Oxventure to enjoy.

Rust does his best to help his allies be more deadly on the battlefield, but his main focus is cashing in on all the coin he can collect! He's always on the hunt for One Gold Piece, which he will happily grab from the field when dropped by a defeated enemy. As long as he holds a precious coin in his claws, he buffs the damage bonus to Highest Bidder and the gold find bonus for Rust For Hire. Plus the more Oxventurers Guild Champions there are in the formation, the more likely he'll find a shiny gold piece while saying Hello, Friends!

For more information on Rust and his abilities, check out his Champion Spotlight!

Year Five Variants

  • Adventure Variant 1: Gold Devourer — Rust begins in the formation. He can't be moved or removed from the formation. The Devourer appears as a secondary boss on area 25. It must be defeated in order to advance. Gold Find is reduced by 99%. Gold Find is increased by 200% per Champion in formation with the Gold Find Tag.
Getting to know Rust: Rust increases your damage based on your total gold find. Use gold find buffing Champions in your formation to boost his support abilities!
    Complete Area 75.

  • Adventure Variant 2: Deadwinter Drama — Only Champions with CON of 14 or higher can be used. In every area, frozen skeleton archers that attack a random Champion from a ranged distance appear. These enemies do not drop gold, nor do they count towards quest progress. If any undead enemy attacks a Champion, that Champion is stunned for 1 second.
    Complete Area 125.

  • Adventure Variant 3: Heads or Tails — Rust begins in the formation (slot 6) with his One Gold PIece ability unlocked. He can't be moved or removed from the formation. When Rust is not holding his shiny gold piece, adjacent champions damage is disabled. When Rust is holding his shiny gold piece, non-adjacent champion damage is disabled.
    Complete Area 175.

Idle Champions: Midwinter 4
Posted in Idle Champions.

Deadwinter Day has arrived once again in Longsaddle. While most citizens keep warm in their homes and exchange gifts to celebrate the midpoint of winter with friends and family, the Champions have been hired by the infamous Harpells to patrol the outskirts of town...

Midwinter 4 introduces Talin Uran, a Combat Wheelchair-using Tiefling Rogue. The event also brings back Môrgæn, the High Elf Ranger (Hunter) played by Morgan Webb on Acquisitions Incorporated, and K'thriss Drow'b, the Drow Warlock played by Kris Straub on Acquisitions Incorporated: The "C" Team. Players have until Monday, January 25th at 12PM Pacific to complete their Midwinter 4 unlocks and objectives.

New Champion: Talin Uran

Dungeons & Dragons Talin Uran Combat Wheelchair

Like many in the D&D community, we were inspired when Sara Thompson introduced us to the Combat Wheelchair last summer. We reached out to Sara last year to get their help in bringing a Combat Wheelchair Champion to Idle Champions, and it just so happened that their D&D character, Talin Uran, was a perfect fit!

Talin Uran is a rogue of great renown within Waterdeep. While on an assignment with the Grambar's Blades a few years ago, he was caught in a building collapse that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Now equipped with his combat wheelchair, Talin is back to doing what he does best: Saving the day and looking awesome doing it.

Talin is a charismatic rogue who specializes in analyzing and exploiting enemy weaknesses, increasing the damage of allies, and slowing enemies with his Scatter Tacks. Talin is a Support champion, when you want to add him to your formation, you can swap him with Celeste (Slot 2).

II. Talin's Stats

Race: Tielfling Alignment: Chaotic Good
Class: Rogue Gender: Male
Age: 26 Affiliation: none

STR: 10 DEX: 18 CON: 12
INT: 13 WIS: 13 CHA: 18

Role: Support
Eligible for Patrons: Mirt the Moneylender, Strahd von Zarovich
Slot: 2, (Celeste)

Talin's Abilities

Talin does everything you would expect a rogue to get up to, including no shortage of mischief. He attacks using both his rapier with Quiet Ambush and his chair with Razor Edged Chakram. Talin zips around in his chair, dropping caltrops behind when attacking with his Scatter Tacks slowing and damaging enemies that enter them. Ever observant, Talin susses out his enemies' weaknesses and passes this information along to his allies to support the team with Spot Weakness.

For more information on Talin and his abilities, check out his Champion Spotlight!

Year Four Variants

  • Fiendish Friends — A collection of fiends spawn in each area. While they are alive, the fiends bestow the following buffs to other enemies.
    • Imp — Enemies drop 99% less gold.
    • Dretch — Enemies deal 100% additional damage.
    • Abyssal Chicken — Enemies move 100% faster. Charge!
  • Reach Area 75.

  • Once Upon a Gazer — Only Champions with WIS 13 or higher can be used. Gazers spawn in each area. They do not drop gold, nor do they count towards quest progress. Champions hit by a gazer are stunned for 3 seconds.
  • Reach Area 125.

  • Deadwinter Dodge — Only Champions with DEX 14 or higher AND INT 12 or higher can be used. Talin starts in the formation and can't be moved or removed.
    Reach Area 175.

Idle Champions: Descent into Avernus, Part 4
Posted in Idle Champions.

The Champions have unlocked enough of Lulu's memories to know that they must leave Elturel and travel to Fort Knucklebone.

First the Champions must figure out how to get out of Elutrel with their lives intact, not an easy feat. Once down and fought clear of the blood war, the wastelands of Avernus and their warmachines are still treacherous at best...

Note: you will need to have completed the previous two Descent into Avernus Adventures, Eltruel has Fallen and Resolve Amongst Chaos, in order to access these new Adventures.

Dungeons & Dragons Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus

Into the Fire

We're in the depths of the High Hall in Elturel. Hell is all around us, and we need to find our way out and travel through the wasteland to Fort Knucklebone...
  • Variant: A Difficult Descent — Getting out of Elturel requires Strength and Dexterity. Only Champions with DEX and STR of 13 or higher can be used.
    Reach area 300.

Dreamscape

Arriving at Fort Knucklebone, we learn the ways of Avernus before starting our dream quest with Mad Maggie.
  • Variant: Dream Gauntlet — Healing is harder in Hell. Only Neutral or Good Champions may be used. Champions do not heal to full nor are they revived when advancing areas. The only way to revive or heal defeated Champions is to go back one or more areas. If you go back one or more areas in your two highest unlocked areas, enemy damage is increased by 25% stacking multiplicatively.
    Reach area 325.

Idle Champions: Descent into Avernus, Part 3
Posted in Idle Champions.

The holy city of Elturel has been pulled into the first layer of the Nine Hells, and now floats anchored above the River Styx held in place by massive infernal chains.

Guided by Lulu the hollyphant, our Champions rally in the ruins of High Hall, seeking a way to save Elturel's survivors while besieged on all sides by the forces of darkness.

Welcome to Avernus...

Note: you will need to have completed the previous two Descent into Avernus Adventures, The Darkness Runs Deeper and Difficult Terrain, in order to access these new Adventures.

Dungeons & Dragons Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus

Descent into Avernus Map

In order to access the new adventures and variants, you will need to switch from the Sword Coast map to the Avernus map. Once unlocked, you can find the Avernus map in the bottom-right corner of the Sword Coast map. Clicking on the green button in the very bottom-right corner will transport you to Avernus.

Dungeons & Dragons Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus

Elturel Has Fallen

The Champions arrive in Avernus to find the holy city of Elturel in chaos, as dark forces begin to overwhelm the city's defenses...
  • Variant: Everything is Awful — In Avernus, the food tastes like ash, the water tastes like bile, and the wine tastes like spoiled milk. But Champions need to eat! Only Champions with CON of 15+ can be used. Every 5 areas, Celeste urges the Champions to eat or drink. For the next 5 areas, the Champions are afflicted by the demoralization of forcing horrible tasting food and drink down:
    • Food tastes like Ash: The Base Attack Cooldown of all Champions is doubled.
    • Water tastes like Bile: Enemies move 20% faster and deal 200% more damage.
    • Wine tastes like Spoiled Milk: Champions collect 99% less gold.
    Reach area 250.

Resolve Amongst Chaos

Survivors of Elturel's descent into Avernus are taking refuge in the High Hall.
  • Variant: All You Know Is Wrong — Things in Avernus don't work the way they should. That much is clear. Whenever a non-boss creature dies, there is a chance they immediately respawn as a Relentless Ghoul. When they are killed, Relentless Ghouls don't disappear (nor do they spawn an additional Relentless Ghoul). Instead, after 5 seconds, they get back up and start attacking again. They do not drop gold, or count towards quest progress.
    Reach area 275.

Idle Champions: Midwinter 3
Posted in Idle Champions.

Deadwinter Day has arrived once again in Longsaddle. While most citizens keep warm in their homes and exchange gifts to celebrate the midpoint of winter with friends and family, the Champions have been hired by the infamous Harpells to patrol the outskirts of town...

Midwinter 3 introduces Môrgæn, the High Elf Ranger (Hunter) played by Morgan Webb on Acquisitions Incorporated. The event also brings back K'thriss Drow'b, the Drow Warlock played by Kris Straub on Acquisitions Incorporated: The "C" Team, and Regis, Halfling Rogue of the Companions of the Hall. Players have until Monday, January 20th at 12PM Pacific to complete their Midwinter 3 unlocks and objectives.

Dungeons & Dragons Môrgæn Morgaen Acquisitions Incorporated

New Champion: Môrgæn

The ranger Môrgæn is a renowned tracker and hunter, able to pinpoint-target foes at any range, then vanish into the woods with no one the wiser. Her legendary ability with the longbow and the custom arrows she crafts instills fear into the hearts of her many enemies -- and more than a few of her coworkers. Famously, she is the only member of Acquisitions Incorporated known to be paid in advance, lest a missed invoice lead to dire repercussions.

Môrgæn is a Support Champion who takes a percentage of your gold find in exchange for a powerful DPS buff with her Paid Up-Front ability. The more gold Môrgæn takes, the greater the power of the buff, which persists through resets. When you wish to add Môrgæn to the formation, you can swap her with Makos (Slot 9).

For more information about our latest Champion, check out the Idle Champion Spotlight: Môrgæn dev blog!

Dungeons & Dragons K'thriss Acquisitions Inc C Team

Year 2 Champion: K'thriss Drow'b

Curious, affable, and morbid, the Drow heretic K'thriss Drow'b seeks the insane god-truth behind the veil of reality. As the "C" Team's hoardsperson, he keeps an eye out for occult relics that could aid him in his unearthly quest.
K'thriss is an unusual Support Champion. He reduces Gold Find to increase Global DPS, summons Shadow Demons to assist the party, and buffs distant allies. When you want to add K'thriss to your party, you can swap him with Bruenor (Slot 1).

For more information, check out the Idle Champion Spotlight: K'thriss dev blog!

Dungeons & Dragons Regis

Year 1 Champion: Regis

As a poor urchin on the streets of Calimport, Regis quickly learned that survival often requires bending the rules in your favor. He fled to the north to avoid capture after stealing his former master’s magical ruby pendant. Eventually, he found companionship amongst the Companions of the Hall, becoming one of Bruenor Battlehammer’s most trusted confidants. Bruenor was the one who gifted Regis with the nickname “Rumblebelly” due to the halfling’s insatiable appetite.

Regis would prefer nothing more than to relax in the sun with a full belly near his home in Ten-Towns and fish for knucklead trout, the source of all of his scrimshaw carvings. But when his friends need help, Regis is always there for them. He never sees himself as the hero, even though his true friends know better.

Regis is a Support Champion. He uses a magical ruby amulet to buff Champions in front of or behind him, and to make enemies weak to different types of damage. When you want to add Regis to your party, you can swap him with Celeste (Slot 2).

Year Three Variants

  • Utterly Devoured — Anyone the Devourer completely devours is now devoured for the entire adventure and can't be used again until you reset the adventure. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
    Reach Area 75.
  • Limited Resources — Only Champions in the first bench seat are initially available. Every 10 areas, another bench slot unlocks, allowing Champions from that slot to be used.
    Reach Area 125.
  • Careful Positioning — Môrgæn starts in the formation in slot 3 and can be moved, but not swapped out or removed from the formation. Only Môrgæn and Champions buffed by Paid Up-Front can deal damage; other Champions' attacks will still proc stuns/slows/etc., but will deal 0 damage.
    Reach Area 175.

Year Two Variants

  • Velvet's Midwinter Adventure — K'thriss summons his unseen servant, Velvet, to help with party. Unfortunately, Velvet has been tasked with collecting gold for K'thriss, causing enemies to drop 50% less gold. K'thriss and Velvet both start in the formation, and once unlocked, K'thriss' Unseen Encouragement ability extends from both K'thriss normally, but also extends to those adjacent to Velvet.
    Reach Area 125.
  • Truth Beyond Knowing — K'thriss desires more knowledge of his unknowable god. Every area, a Drow Cultist empowered by the sign of the Ur appears, attacking with Chain Lightning. The Drow Cultist drops no gold upon death, but does drop a glyph (book). Every time you collect a glyph, Champions with an Intelligence (INT) score of 13 or higher have their damage increased by 5%, while Champions with below 13 INT have their damage go down by 5% for the remainder of the adventure.
    Reach Area 125.
  • More Like the Scream Team — The Devourer now arrives as a second boss in Area 25, and if that wasn't scary enough, the Devourer now devours Champions every 8 seconds instead of every 10 seconds!
    Reach Area 175.

Year One Variants

  • Deadwinter Date — You've been tasked with escorting two young Harpell wards on a date during your adventure. They take up slots and are otherwise pretty useless.
    Reach Area 125.
  • Deadwinter Fey — A large number of sprites and pixies spawn with each wave of enemies (not during boss areas). These extra monsters do not drop gold, and when killed they sprinkle a random Champion with pixie dust. Any champion that is sprinkled with 10 Pixie dust has their DPS and Formation Abilities disabled. Pixie dust stacks reset when you change areas.
    Reach Area 125.
  • Deadwinter Pay (-back) — Every time you defeat an enemy (in a non-boss area) your Champions take 10% unavoidable damage. Champions adjacent to Regis take one third of that damage while Regis himself is immune.
    Reach Area 175.
See the in-game FAQ for more information!

Idle Champion Spotlight: Môrgæn
Posted in Idle Champions.

Môrgæn is a solver of problems, at great range and with terrible efficiency. I don’t mean terrible like: “she can’t do it;” I mean terrible like: “scary.” With Jim, I pay when I get around to it. I don’t know the last time I paid Viari. But Môrgæn? She’s an elf from the Elsewynn and she shoots arrows she makes herself. Some of these arrows are made with some kind of evil tooth on the front. So, she gets paid a month in advance. It’s not in the contract! I just like how my head is all in one piece right now and that seems like a good investment.

    ~Omin Dran

If you're in the market for a High Elf Hunter who specializes in killing enemies and making you money, look no further than Môrgæn, the ruthless and efficient Ranger played by Morgan Webb on Acquisitions Incorporated!

Would you like to know more?

I. A solver of problems...

Dungeons & Dragons Môrgæn Morgaen Acquisitions Incorporated

II. Môrgæn's Stats

Race: High Elf Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Class: Ranger (Hunter) Gender: Female
Age: 150 Affiliation: Acquisitions Incorporated

STR: 12 DEX: 20 CON: 12
INT: 14 WIS: 15 CHA: 10

Dungeons & Dragons Môrgæn Morgaen Acquisitions Incorporated

III. Môrgæn's Design

Since Môrgæn is in many ways a highly skilled mercenary, we wanted to make sure that she took her 'cut' of the profits, so Môrgæn will take a percentage of your Gold Find with her Paid Up-Front ability, and in exchange she will increase the damage of other Champions and help you kill enemies. She has multiple sets of specializations that allow you to customize Paid Up-Front further, so you can make sure that she's helping your favorite DPS Champions. And did we mention that this buff is boosted by all the gold Môrgæn collects, persisting through all her adventures? We probably should have mentioned that :)

Môrgæn's second ability is Friends in Wealth, which increases the formation's damage with the aid of Gold Find Champions (and stacks multiplicatively for each one you field), giving her some extra oomph when grouped with Champions like the dashing and debonair Jarlaxle, who may have poisoned a certain roguish AI employee once.

Finally, Môrgæn's last formation ability is Double Tap: whenever Môrgæn's first arrow kills a target, the second arrow fired through her Rapid Shot basic attack not only makes sure the enemy is dead, but miraculously doubles the amount of gold dropped. How does she do it? We don't know*, and we certainly aren't complaining!

When you really feel like messing up some enemies, use Môrgæn's ultimate ability, Customized Arrow, can kill groups of enemies together, in a line, or even cause significant damage over time to an enemy.

(*Note: we definitely 'know')

IV. Môrgæn's Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Rapid Shot — Môrgæn shoots an arrow at a random target, then quickly follows up with a second arrow.

Formation Abilities

  • Paid Up-Front — Môrgæn collects 25% of the gold dropped by enemies, but in turn increases the damage of all adjacent Champions by 100%. This buff is increased by 5% for each order of magnitude of gold that she collects (stacking additively and then applying multiplicatively), with the sum persisting through resets.
  • Friends In Wealth — Môrgæn increases the damage of all Champions by 100% for each Champion with the Gold Find role (stacking multiplicatively).
  • Double Tap — If Môrgæn's first arrow kills her target, the second arrow hits the now-dead(?) target again, causing it to drop a second set of gold.

Specializations

  • Buff Targets — The first Specialization determines which other Champions Paid Up-Front applies to:

    • Fine As Is — Paid Up-Front continues to only apply to adjacent Champions.

    • Keep Your Distance — Paid Up-Front now only applies to all non-adjacent Champions.

    • Monster Fodder — Paid Up-Front now only applies to all Champions in front of Môrgæn.

    • Stay Out Of My Way — Paid Up-Front now only applies to all Champions behind Môrgæn.
  • Buff Modifiers — The second Specialization determines what additional factor modifies Paid Up-Front's magnitude:

    • Keep It Simple — Paid Up-Front's buff is increased by 300%.

    • Tight Formation — Paid Up-Front is increased by 75% for each Champion adjacent to Môrgæn (stacking additively, then applying multiplication; 6 adjacent = 450%).

    • Calm Under Pressure — Paid Up-Front is increased by 20% for each enemy attacking a Champion within 2 slots of herself (additively), up to a max of 20 enemies (max 400%); each enemy can only count once, even if it's attacking multiple Champions.

    • The Long Game — Paid Up-Front is increased by 10% each second an enemy is not killed (additively), stacking up to 60 times (max 600%); any enemy dying resets the stack amount to 0.
  • Buff Modifiers 2 — Choose a second Specialization choice from Buff Modifiers.

Ultimate Ability

  • Customized Arrow — Môrgæn pulls a customized arrow from her quiver at random and fires this more powerful arrow towards her enemies. This ultimate can have one of three effects at random:

    • Skull-carved Arrow — Môrgæn's arrow rips through all enemies it hits, continuing in a straight line until it leaves the screen.

    • Smokepowder Arrow — Môrgæn's arrow explodes on the enemy it hits, dealing damage to all other enemies nearby.

    • Green-leaf Arrow — Môrgæn's arrow causes the enemy it hits to take damage over time.

Idle Champion Spotlight: Artemis Entreri
Posted in Idle Champions.

"...He recognized the man at once, though he hadn't seen him in years, by the emerald-encrusted dagger hilt protruding from the sheath on his hip. Regis had often contemplated stealing that beautiful weapon, but even he had a limit to his foolhardiness. The dagger belonged to Artemis Entreri..."

RA Salvatore, The Crystal Shard (1988)
One of the most-requested characters we've ever had for Idle Champions finally arrives with Wintershield 3 later this week. It's time to introduce Artemis Entreri, the legendary assassin and ruthless arch-enemy of Drizzt Do'Urden, in the final Idle Champion Spotlight of 2019.

Are you ready to learn more?

A Legendary Assassin...

Dungeons & Dragons Artemis Entreri

Raised by the thieves' guild in Calimport, Artemis Entreri has since become one of the deadliest and most feared assassins in the history of Faerûn. Entreri is completely devoted to mastery of his craft, leaving no room in his life for emotional attachment or even personal pleasures. His fighting skills and tactical brilliance are equalled only by one other - the drow warrior Drizzt Do'Urden.

Artemis is an extremely potent DPS Champion who observes and copies the support abilities granted to other DPS Champions, duplicating them for himself. When you wish to add Artemis to the formation, you can swap him with Nayeli (Slot 3).

II. Artemis' Stats

Race: Human Alignment: Lawful Evil
Class: Rogue (Assassin) Gender: Male
Age: unknown Affiliation: none

STR: 14 DEX: 20 CON: 15
INT: 16 WIS: 16 CHA: 13

Eligible for Patrons: Mirt, Vajra

Dungeons & Dragons Mirt and Vajra

III. Artemis Entreri's Design

How do you bring to life Drizzt Do'Urden's ultimate nemesis? A legendary assassin able to match skills with anyone he comes across? As it turns out, you make him do just that!

We approached Artemis Entreri as an incredibly capable, observant, and adaptable fighter. When Artemis sees a move in combat, he can immediately duplicate it — and this is also true with formation abilities. If a DPS Champion other than Artemis receives a positional formation buff, Artemis will also receive a portion of the effect of that formation buff as well. This means Artemis is at his most powerful when fighting alongside other DPS Champions, opening up new formation possibilities where a support champion might be substituted for a DPS Champion so Artemis can duplicate multiple formation abilities from them. These stolen formation buff 'fragments' stack multiplicatively with any formation abilities that Artemis himself receives, and with the proper specialization choice, if the buffs are stolen from Drizzt or Catti-brie, this effect is further increased.

In addition to this unique mechanic, Artemis has a unique attack with his Vampiric Dagger. Getting a killing blow causes the dagger to become empowered, increasing Artemis' damage. This effect can stack multiple times, and with each attack there is a chance that the empowered dagger's power will be unleashed, dealing additional damage to whichever enemy was unlucky enough to be hit with the unleashed attack. Vampiric Dagger can cause Artemis' damage to spike randomly whenever he is reliably killing enemies, increasing his BUD-boosting potential.

Finally, Artemis' Ultimate Attack, One Upped, furthers increases his synergy with other DPS Champions by causing his Basic Attack cooldown to become reset whenever another DPS Champion attacks. This increases his damage based on the number of other DPS Champions in the formation, and lasts for the duration.

IV. Artemis Entreri's Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Vampiric Dagger — Artemis attacks the nearest enemy with his Vampiric Dagger.

Formation Abilities

  • Observance — Artemis observes and copies the positional formation abilities applied to other DPS Champions in the formation and gains a copy of those abilities on himself at 75% of their effectiveness, even if he himself already receives that effect.

  • Jeweled Power — Artemis' Vampiric Dagger is empowered. Whenever Artemis kills an enemy, Artemis' damage is increased by 100%, stacking multiplicatively. While this ability has at least 1 stack, there is a 10% chance per stack (additive) that the power will be unleashed when Artemis attacks, dealing 300% additional damage on that attack and resetting the empowered stacks to 0.

Specializations

  • Friend — Observance's effect is increased by 10% for positional formation abilities observed and copied from Champions adjacent to Artemis.

  • Foe — Observance's effect is increased by 25% for each positional formation ability observed and copied from either Drizzt Do'Urden or Catti-brie.

Ultimate Ability

  • One Upped — For 30 seconds, Artemis concentrates on showing off his martial prowess, increasing his base damage by 300% for each DPS Champion in the formation (including himself), stacking multiplicatively. Artemis' Basic Attack cooldown is reset to 0 whenever another DPS Champion attacks.

Slot 6: Ultimate Cooldown

VI. Conclusion

It's been a long time coming, but Artemis Entreri is finally coming to Idle Champions. We had a fantastic time trying to find a way to bring this legendary character to life, and we think we've created a unique and potent DPS Champion with Artemis Entreri -- and more importantly, he really shines when he's stealing the buffs of the Companions of the Hall. We can't wait to see how far players go from here!
