Idle Champions: The Great Modron March 7
Posted in Idle Champions.

Something isn't right in the Outlands! The Great Modron March is only supposed to happen every 289 years - but the modrons are marching out of Mechanus right now!

Worst of all, they've found a way onto the Material Plane. Modrons have already been spotted in the forest! They're heading for Waterdeep!

The Great Modron March 7 has arrived! It introduces Diana, the Human Monk from the Dungeons & Dragons Cartoon. This speed/support Champion is ready to leap into your formations and power up the Saturday Morning Squad! It also reintroduces Gromma, the Grandmotherly Tortle Druid, from the minds at Codename Entertainment. You can learn more about Diana and the rework to Gromma below. Also, you can choose three of eight previous Champions to unlock over the course of The Great Modron March 7!

Table of Contents

Diana

Dungeons & Dragons Diana the Acrobat

Diana was already a formidable gymnast when she and her friends were transported to the magical world of Dungeons & Dragons. Diana wields her Javelin Staff with determination and courage, harnessing its potent magic to triumph over countless obstacles. The confidence of this outspoken athlete propels her friends forward in their quest to return home.

Diana is a Support and Speed Champion who comes from the Dungeons & Dragons Cartoon from the 1980s. Diana’s flexible support ability provides the choice to buff Dexterous champions, young Champions, or Champions with low ability score totals. She also speeds up your progress by increasing the transition speed between areas. Once unlocked, she's a quick swap with Makos in seat 9!

Learn more about Diana in our Champion Spotlight!

Gromma

Dungeons & Dragons Gromma Nander

Extremely elderly for a Tortle, Gromma Nander grew discontent with her secluded life after giving birth to her offspring. Once they were old enough to fend for themselves, she ventured back out into the world to learn as much as she could about the strange creatures that inhabit it. Gromma is a wise and inquisitive Tortle who is quick to friendship but slow to trust. She carries a pouch of smooth colored stones that she has collected on her journey and walks with the aid of a battle-worn spear.

Gromma is a DPS, Support and Tanking tortle who has learned how to be flexible enough to take on almost any role in the formation. She has a soft spot for "the youngins" and does her best to assist anyone younger. She's found a comfy spot in Seat 3 opposite Nayeli.

Learn more about the changes coming to Gromma in our Reintroduction Spotlight!

Events 2.0

Event Changes

Events 2.0 is a significant update to the events system in Idle Champions. Because players will now be able to unlock more Champions, content, and rewards through Events 2.0, we are increasing the duration of events from 12 days to 21 days. Events will typically begin on the first Wednesday of each month and run for three weeks. Content updates for Idle Champions will occur on the Wednesdays outside events.

Along with the Event duration change we are reducing the number of annual events, shifting from 17 annual events down to 12. Long term, we plan to retire the Midwinter, Greengrass, The Running, Midsummer, and Brightswords events. However, as we transition over to the new Event 2.0 schedule, there will be a Greengrass event in April 2024.

Quality of Life Updates

As part of the Events 2.0 update, we are also making several quality of life updates:
  • Bounty Contracts used outside of events will award Event Tokens for the next event.
  • Event adventures, variants, and free plays no longer cost Event Tokens to start.
  • Event Tokens are now only used to purchase Event Chests directly (free plays no longer need to be grinded to obtain extra chests).
  • Event Tokens left over once an event ends will automatically be converted to Champion chests.
  • Retired Champions may come out of retirement.
  • Event Boons are granted to players who purchase specially marked event-related DLC during an event. There are four tiers of Event Boons that offer buffs to Champion Damage, Gold Find, Champion Health, Click Damage, and Speed. These buffs increase with each tier of Event Boon. Additionally, the first purchase that grants an Event Boon will also unlock the Supporter Slot.

Idle Champion Reintroduction Spotlight: Gromma
Posted in Idle Champions.

We've learned a lot in the last seven years of creating Idle Champions, and the game has grown and changed quite a bit. But it's nice to know that even our oldest Champions are still doing good work in their formations. That doesn't mean they don't deserve a bit of a makeover, especially when we're talking about the second event Champion to arrive in the game! This versatile tortle has patiently waited for the youngin's to finish their fun, so now it's time to introduce the new and improved Gromma Nander!

I. Gromma

Check out our Champion Spotlight Video embedded below for a quick overview of Gromma's abilities, and read on to get all of the details!

II. Gromma's Stats

Race: Tortle Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Gender: Female Pronouns: She/Her
Age: 80 Affiliation: None Class: Druid (Circle of the Land)

STR: 14 DEX: 10 CON: 18
INT: 12 WIS: 17 CHA: 13

Role: DPS, Support, Tanking

Eligible for Patrons: Vajra, Zariel, Elminster (available until May 1st, 2027)

Seat: 3 (Nayeli)

III. Gromma's Abilities

Basic Attack

Gromma's normal attack can change based on her specialization. She starts with Slow and Steady and changes to Melf's Acid Arrow if the Melf's Acid Arrow specialization is chosen.
  • Slow and Steady (Melee) - Gromma Nander, moving faster than you would expect for an 80 year old Tortle, stabs the closest enemy with her spear.
  • Melf's Acid Arrow (Magic) - Gromma shoots a bolt of acid at the nearest target.

Formation Abilities

  • Hardened Shell - Gromma has a hardened shell, reducing effects of the Overwhelm debuff by 25%.
  • Grandmotherly Love - Gromma increases the damage of all other heroes proportional to their age. The buff starts applying to each Champion at 100%, and for every 10 years younger than 100 that Champion is, the buff on them is increased by 100%, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Ancient Heroism - Gromma increases the health of all other Champions by 25% of her max health.
  • Runnin' With The Youngin's - The effect of Grandmotherly Love is increased by 50% for each Champion in the formation younger than Gromma, stacking multiplicatively.

First Specializations

  • Circle of the Mountain - Gromma increases the damage of Neutral Champions (on the Good/Evil axis) by 5% for each enemy that has spawned and boss enrage stack in the current area, stacking multiplicatively and capping at 100.
  • Circle of the Arctic - Gromma now casts Sleet Storm on enemies she attacks, causing her targeted enemy, and all nearby enemies, to take 400% additional damage from all attacks.
  • Circle of the Swamp - Gromma's damage is increased by 400% of the highest Grandmotherly Love buff she's applying to another Champion in the formation.

Second Specializations

  • Stoneskin - Increase the effect of Hardened Shell by 100%. Enemies that attack Gromma are impaled by her spiked shell, instantly taking 10 seconds of BUD damage.
  • Entanglement - The effect of Gromma's chosen Circle specialization is increased by 100%, and enemies damaged by Gromma have their movement speed and attack speed halved.
  • Melf's Acid Arrow - Replaces Gromma's base attack with Melf's Acid Arrow, changing her into a magic attacker. After hitting its target (dealing damage) the arrow explodes, damaging its target (again) and all nearby enemies for an additional 5 seconds of BUD damage.

Ultimate Ability

  • Wall of Stone - A wall of stone bursts up out of the ground under a random enemy. The targeted enemy and any enemies in the column that the wall appears in take damage and are knocked backwards. The wall lasts for 15 seconds, and for that time enemies cannot pass it.

IV. Gromma's Epic Equipment

Slot 1: Runnin' With The Youngin's
Slot 2: Global Damage
Slot 3: Grandmotherly Love
Slot 4: Specializations
Slot 5: Ultimate Attack Damage
Slot 6: Ultimate Cooldown

V. Gromma's Achievement and Adventure Variants

Achievement:

  • How Do You Do, Fellow Kids! - Complete 1000 areas while Gromma's Runnin' With The Youngin's has 9 stacks.

Gromma's Adventure Variants:

Respectful Restraint -
  • Ultimate Attacks can not be used and any attacks with a cooldown of 5 seconds or less have an additional 3 second cooldown. These lengthened attacks don't do any additional damage due to their longer cooldown.
  • Area Goals:
    • Tier 1: Complete Area 75.
    • Tier 2: Complete Area 250.
    • Tier 3: Complete Area 600.
    • Tier 4: Complete Area 1200.

The Relentless Undead
  • Undead monsters have 2x as much health as normal and, when they take a killing blow, they are stunned for 10 seconds before coming back to life.
  • Area Goals:
    • Tier 1: Complete Area 125.
    • Tier 2: Complete Area 350.
    • Tier 3: Complete Area 800.
    • Tier 4: Complete Area 1400.

A Grand Nandventure
  • Gromma Nander starts in your formation and cannot be moved or removed. She has a 4x damage boost and her normal attack cooldown is reduced by 2 seconds.
  • Area Goals:
    • Tier 1: Complete Area 175.
    • Tier 2: Complete Area 450.
    • Tier 3: Complete Area 1000.
    • Tier 4: Complete Area 1600.

Idle Champions: The Great Modron March 6
Posted in Idle Champions.

A modron sighting is a rare occurrence outside Mechanus, the plane of true law.

At least, it's supposed to be a rare occurrence -- word has it that thousands of modrons have been seen on the march in the wilderness, and they are heading towards Waterdeep!

The Great Modron March 6 introduces Evandra, the Half-Elf Fighter from Deerstalker Picture's 1 for All, and brings back Gazrick Nomrad, a rogue modron separated from his fellow modrons, and Mehen, Dragonborn Fighter and adoptive father of Farideh and Havilar of Brimstone Angels. Players have until Monday, June 5th at 12PM Pacific to complete their The Great Modron March 6 unlocks and objectives.

New Champion: Evandra

Rough and tumble, and ready for action, Half-Elven Fighter Evandra brings the muscle. Evandra ran away from home when her father discovered that she had been training in strength and combat. He tried to force her into an arranged marriage with an elven nobleman, but Evandra rejected this on both principle and taste. She decided instead to become an adventurer, free from her father’s judgment.

Evandra is a Support, Tanking, and Gold Find Champion who's always willing to lend a hand as long as a fight is involved. She empowers all neutral champions, and brings the Awful Ones together, especially if the Witchlight Carnival is involved. Once unlocked, you can find this Half-Elf Fighter in Slot 5 opposite Calliope.

For more information on Evandra and her abilities, check out her Champion Spotlight!

Year Six Variants

Fight First, Ask Questions Later: Help Evandra stop the Modron March from crushing Waterdeep! Evandra starts in the formation (Slot 1). She can't be moved or removed. Only Neutral Champions (on the good/evil axis) can deal damage.
  • Reach Area 75.

  • Half-Elf, Pink, and the Bard: Stop the Modron March and Mechanical Guards from crushing Waterdeep. Evandra starts in the formation (Slot 1). She can't be moved or removed. If you have them (and they're not already on another adventure) Antrius and Nixie start unlocked and in the formation (Slot 5 & 6 respectively). 1-2 Mechanical Guards spawn with every wave. They don't drop gold, nor do they count towards quest progress. Construct enemies move at +300% speed and deal +300% damage.
  • Reach Area 125.

  • That's What Friends Are For: Stop the Modron March from crushing Waterdeep with Evandra's favorite heroes! Evandra starts in the formation (Slot 1). She can't be moved or removed. You may only use Champions that are female, non-binary, fighters, rangers, barbarians, paladins, or have a total ability score of 78 or less.
  • Reach Area 175.

  • Much more detail and information can be found in the game! Enjoy!

    Idle Champion Spotlight: Evandra
    Posted in Idle Champions.

"Swords and metal can settle scores!"

Evandra is always ready to charge into a fight for treasure, glory, or simply because she's feeling a bit bored. Because why waste time talking or throwing spells around when you’ve got a trusty sword?

    I. Evandra

Slot: 5 (Calliope)

    III. Evandra's Design

Evandra is the tank of the Awful Ones from 1 For All, leading the way into whatever dangers they might encounter. She increases the damage of all Neutral Champions on the good/evil axis with her Freedom's Fury, and buffs everyone's health as well as any healing effects they receive thanks to her Inspiring Fortitude. Fighting is hard work and deserves compensation, so she's always trying to Find the Secret Stash by increasing the formation's gold find.

If Evandra is horribly wounded in battle, you’ll find that she’s Never Completely ‘Armless. If her health is ever brought to zero she will sacrifice her own arm in order to survive and get back into the battle with whatever weapon she can wield. Sometimes that's her Trusty Sword, but she'll make do with whatever arms are available. When she’s in big trouble, Evandra can use her Ultimate attack to “disarm” a nearby mechanical menace and strike her enemies with Improvised Arms. While wielding this automaton’s arm, Evandra increases her attack rate and greatly increases her damage.

The damage bonus her Freedom's Fury provides is increased depending on what other Champions join her formation. Her Specializations let you choose between Powerful Allies, which raises the bonus for each female or nonbinary Champion in the formation, Fighting Force that increases it for each fighter, barbarian, ranger, or paladin, and Carnival Crew for each Champion with a total ability score of 78 or less. Since Evandra is such a huge fan of the Witchlight Carnival, she's eligible for all Wild Beyond the Witchlight adventures and variants no matter the restrictions. And she'll extend that ability to her fellow Awful Ones if the Carnival Crew Specialization is chosen.

Evandra's strength and confidence are great additions to the formation, even as she charges into battle head-first and full of bravado!

    IV. Evandra's Abilities

    Basic Attack

    • Trusty Sword - Evandra moves up next to the closest enemy and swings her sword, dealing 1 hit to all nearby enemies.

    Passive Abilities

    • Evandra, the Magnificent - Evandra can be used in any Wild Beyond the Witchlight campaign adventure or variant, even if she would not normally be available to be used due to variant or patron restrictions.

    Formation Abilities

    • Freedom's Fury - Evandra increases the damage of all Neutral Champions (on the Good/Evil axis) by 100%.
    • Find the Secret Stash - Increase the formation's gold find by 100%. Every time a Champion attacks but does not defeat an enemy, increase this bonus by 50%, stacking additively up to 120 times and applying multiplicatively. Bonus resets when an enemy is defeated.
    • Inspiring Fortitude - Evandra increases the health of all other Champions by 25% of her max health, and any healing effect on those Champions is increased by 25%.

    Specializations

    • Powerful Allies - Evandra increases the damage bonus of Freedom's Fury by +100% for each female or nonbinary Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively and applied multiplicatively.
    • Fighting Force - Evandra increases the damage bonus of Freedom's Fury by +125% for each fighter, barbarian, ranger, or paladin in the formation, stacking multiplicatively and applied multiplicatively.
    • Carnival Crew - Evandra increases the damage bonus of Freedom's Fury by +150% for each Champion with a total ability score of 78 or less in the formation, stacking multiplicatively. In addition, all Awful Ones Champions are available to be used if Wild Beyond the Witchlight is the current campaign, even if they do not currently qualify based on variant or patron restrictions.

    Ultimate Ability

    • Improvised Arms - A mechanical guard spawns on the right side and quickly moves to the middle of the enemy's side of the screen. Evandra moves up, attacks the guard, and instantly "disarms" it and defeats it. Then Evandra uses the guard's arm as a weapon for the next 15 seconds instead of her sword. For the duration, Evandra's attack deals an additional 3 seconds of BUD damage, her normal attack speed cooldown is faster by 2 seconds, and Freedom's Fury is increased by 100% for the duration.

    V. Evandra's Epic Equipment

    Slot 1: Global DPS
    Slot 2: Evandra Health
    Slot 3: Freedom's Fury
    Slot 4: Secret Stash
    Slot 5: Specializations
    Slot 6: Ultimate Cooldown

    VI. Conclusion

Evandra believes the best defense is a good offense. Are you enjoying watching her wield arms into battle? Tell us during out Community Q&A or Champion feedback post on the Idle Champions Subreddit, on the Steam forums, or on the Official Idle Champions Discord!

Idle Champions: The Great Modron March 5
    Posted in Idle Champions.

A modron sighting is a rare occurrence outside Mechanus, the plane of true law.

At least, it's supposed to be a rare occurrence -- word has it that thousands of modrons have been seen on the march in the wilderness, and they are heading towards Waterdeep!

The Great Modron March 5 introduces Nordom a rogue modron separated from his fellow modrons, and brings back Mehen, Dragonborn Fighter and adoptive father of Farideh and Havilar of Brimstone Angels, and Jaheira, the renowned half-elf druid from Baldur's Gate. Players have until Monday, May 31st at 12PM Pacific to complete their Great Modron March 5 unlocks and objectives.

    I. New Champion: Nordom

Dungeons & Dragons Nordom Key Art

Modrons are the embodiment of law and order, marching in lockstep through the planes. But when Nordom Whistlklik was separated from his fellow modrons, the essence of chaos infected this rogue quadrone. Now with his crossbow-shaped gear spirits in hand, he works to fit his complex new outlook into his logical, if quirky, understanding of the planes.

Nordom is a Support Champion who adopted his new designation when he was called a "backward modron", and now takes on his new role in the formation with all the processing power he can muster. Find out all the details about Nordom in his Champion Spotlight!

New Party & New Modron Core

The Great Modron March was the perfect time for some upgrades to Modron Automation. Starting May 18th, if you have at least 4 Champions in each bench slot, you can play Split The Party 3 from your Adventuring Parties screen! Completing this challenging new adventure variant will unlock a 4th adventuring party, as well as a 4th Core: the Magic Core, which is focused on increasing the damage of Champions who use magic.

    Modron Supercharge System

Additionally, starting today in every Modron Core, any outputs that increase Champion damage can be SUPERCHARGED! Supercharging starts to kick in when at least 500 power is being delivered to an output. Every time the power doubles after that point, the effect of that output is increased 25%, stacking additively and then applying multiplicatively, with a cap of 20 stacks. Set up your core cleverly, and you can significantly boost your DPS to help complete those difficult objectives!

New DLC and a More Chests Sale!

Today's launch also includes 4 DLC SKUs: 3 new Skin & Feat packs (Celeste, Spurt, and Penelope) as well as a Theme Pack for Nordom! We're also kicking off a More Chests Sale for the rest of the week. Until Monday, May 23rd at Noon Pacific, get more Gold Chests, Event Chests, or Modron Chests when you pick up most Chest Packs! I. New Champion: Mehen

    Dungeons & Dragons Verthisathurgiesh Mehen

Mehen is a tall, powerful dragonborn with dull-ocher scales and a blunt attitude. With strong opinions on the right course of action, he is just as comfortable yelling orders on the battlefield as he is fiercely protecting his daughters. Despite a life thrown into turmoil after being exiled from his clan and attempting to raise twin tieflings, Mehen remains resilient in his sense of self and his abilities with a falchion.

Mehen is both Grumpy and Gruff and uses those qualities to buff and bolster his allies, especially if those party members include Farideh and Havilar. When you want to add him to your formation, you can swap him with Nayeli (Slot 3).

    II. Mehen’s Stats

    Race: Dragonborn Alignment: Neutral Good
    Class: Fighter Gender: Male
    Age: 48 Affiliation: Brimstone Angels

    STR: 19 DEX: 8 CON: 15
    INT: 13 WIS: 12 CHA: 14

    Role: Support & Gold Find
Eligible for Patrons: Mirt the Moneylender, Vajra Safahr, Strahd von Zarovich, Zariel
    Slot: 3 (Nayeli)

    Mehen's Abilities

Mehen is a Support and Gold Find Champion. With the new Brimstone Angels affiliation, he buffs his daughters Farideh and Havilar (and they buff him), while Exiled helps all three find the gold they need to continue their adventures.

Mehen prefers to be towards the back of any formation where he can think tactically about the battle and issue precise orders. Grumpy gives buffs to Champions in front of him, and Gruff boosts this buff based on how far ahead Champion in question is, while We’ve Trained For This increases the amount of gold he’ll collect the further back he’s placed. Year Four Variants

    • The Elusive Bounty — Mehen is on the hunt for a pixie from the feywild who has been harassing adventurers for years! He starts in the formation. He can be moved or removed. The pixie arrives in each boss area to taunt Mehen, buffing all enemies so they move 100% faster and deal 100% additional damage. You must defeat her in addition to the area requirements to advance.
Getting to know Mehen: To maximize Mehen's benefit within your formation, you'll want to watch his Grumpy stacks and keep them within the middle range.
        • Mehen gains Grumpy stacks based on which column he is in with a gain of 1 stack per second in the front row, to 5 stacks per second in the back row.
        • Mehen loses Grumpy stacks when one of the following things happens to either Mehe, Farideh or Havilar: They attack (10% loss), they take damage (10% loss), or they kill an enemy (5% loss).
    • Reach Area 75.
    • The Neverending March Continues — Every time a Modron is killed in non-boss areas it shuts down for 5 seconds and then comes back to life with full health. Modron enemies deal 100% additional damage.
    • Reach Area 125.
    • Volo's Guide to Grumpy Guys — Volo has returned to observe the formation. Only Male Champions can be used. Enemies move 100% faster, and deal 100% additional damage.
Getting to know Mehen: While Mehen works best with his daughters Farideh & Havilar, he's no slouch on his own. Without the Brimstone Angels in your formation, you need to manage Mehen's Grumpy stacks a bit differently. Remember that changing his column will alter how quickly he is gaining Grumpy stacks.
    • Reach Area 175.

    Idle Champion Spotlight: Mehen
    Posted in Idle Champions.

This father is here to do the right thing, though he doesn’t have to be happy while doing it!

Verthisathurgiesh Mehen is a dragonborn fighter, adoptive father of Havilar and Farideh, and a character from the Brimstone Angels D&D Novel series written by Erin M. Evans. He’ll be bringing his commanding presence to the Champion ranks next week during The Great Modron March!

    III. Mehen's Design

We continue to be blessed to work with Erin M. Evans, and are excited to bring another one of her brilliant characters to life in our game! Mehen’s experience in the Lance Defenders as well as his work as a mercenary and monster hunter make him a formidable warrior, and his power becomes even more bolstered when fighting alongside his daughters. Brimstone Angels stick together and buff Mehen, while Exiled helps all three find the gold they need to continue their adventures.

Mehen prefers to be towards the back of any formation where he can think tactically about the battle and issue precise orders. Gruff gives buffs to Champions in front of him, while We’ve Trained For This increases the amount of gold he’ll collect the further back he’s placed.

    IV. Mehen's Abilities

    Basic Attack

    • Double Strike — Mehen leaps out and attacks a random enemy with his Falchion, swinging down at first and then up with the second swing, scoring a hit each time.

    Formation Abilities

    • Grumpy — Mehen buffs Champions in his column and all columns in front of him based on the number of Grumpy stacks he has. He gains stacks based on the column he is in and loses stacks when himself, Farideh, or Havilar take or receive certain actions. The buff is significantly higher when he is close to 50 stacks (it falls off sharply on either side), and stacks cap at 100.
      • The column position determines the rate at which stacks are added: Front column +1 stack/second, Back column +5 stacks/second, Middle columns are prorated between 1-5 based on the column.
      • Stacks are removed based on the actions of Mehen, Farideh, or Havilar: if any of them attack -10% stacks (once per attack), if any of them take damage -10% stacks (4 seconds of shared cooldown), or if any of them get a kill with a base attack -5% stacks (triggers for each kill).
      • Work to adjust where Mehen, Farideh and Havilar are in your formation to find the best spot to gain stacks as quickly as you’re losing them!
      • This ability is buffed by upgrades, equipment, and feats. Buffs will apply to the post-stack value.
    • Gruff — Mehen increases the effect of his Grumpy buff on Champions based on how many columns ahead of him they are. It is doubled for each column. This ability is buffed by upgrades, equipment, and feats. Buffs to this ability apply to the post-stack value.
    • Exiled — Kills by Farideh, Havilar, or Mehen grant 200% more gold. Buffed by upgrades, equipment, and feats.
    • Brimstone Angels — Increase the effect of Grumpy by 400% if Farideh is in the formation, and a further 400% if Havilar is in the formation. Buffs apply to the pre-stack value, and stack multiplicatively.

    Specializations

    • Cheer Up Pops — Increases the rate at which Grumpy stacks are added by 1 and increases the effect of Grumpy by 400%.
    • We've Trained for This — Increase the effect of Exiled based on how far from the front of the formation Mehen is placed. Effect is increased by 20% for each column, stacking multiplicatively.

    Ultimate Ability

    • Lightning Breath — Mehen leaps forward and breaths a cone of lightning that damages all enemies on the screen. If he damages more than 5 enemies then his Grumpy stacks are set to 50 and he gains and loses stacks at a reduced rate for 30 seconds.

Idle Champions: The Great Modron March 3
    Posted in Idle Champions.

A modron sighting is a rare occurrence outside Mechanus, the plane of true law.

At least, it's supposed to be a rare occurrence -- word has it that thousands of modrons have been seen on the march in the wilderness, and they are heading towards Waterdeep!

The Great Modron March 3 introduces Jaheira, the renown half-elf druid from Baldur's Gate, and brings back Qillek Ad Khollar and Evelyn Avalona Helvig Marthain. Players have until Monday, May 25th at 12PM Pacific to complete their event unlocks and objectives.

    A Note Regarding Nintendo Switch

We're immensely excited to be on the Nintendo Switch, and chomping at the bit to share our corner of the Forgotten Realms with all of the new players that have joined us.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 related delays, we were unable to release our latest build on Switch in time to launch the Great Modron March event. We are genuinely sorry for the delay. We're working with our partners at Nintendo to minimize future delays.

As compensation for missing the event, we'll be crediting players with the following when we can release the next Switch build:
    • Unlocks for all three event Champions (Jaheira, Qillek, and Evelyn)
    • 3 Silver and 3 Gold Chests for each of those Champions.
    • 6 Time Gate pieces
You can follow us on our Twitter and Facebook to be the first to hear when the update (and Champion unlocks) are out on Switch.

Dungeons & Dragons Jaheira Baldur's Gate

    Year 3 Champion: Jaheira

Jaheira is a noble-born half-elf who was raised by an enclave of druids after her family was killed. Having gained an understanding of balance, she resolved to serve nature with the skills the druids taught her. She was recruited by the Harpers, where she met her late husband, Khalid. Jaheira knows life isn't black and white. She lives in the balance, as nature demands.

Jaheira is a DPS and Support Champion who channels her anger into powerful DPS buffs for herself and her allies. Specializations amplify the abilities based on allied classes and enemy types. When you want to add Jaheira to your formation, you can swap her with Jarlaxle (Slot 4).

For more information about Jaheira, check out the Idle Champion Spotlight: Jaheira dev blog!

Dungeons & Dragons Quill Qillek Ad Khollar Tom Hazel High Rollers

Year 2 Champion: Qillek Ad Khollar

Qillek is timid, meek and nervous, being a comparably young character in the party and thrown into a world he doesn’t understand with no wing to fly him out of a bad situation. His charisma, wit, and superiority ripped away when flying through the Valley of the Storms, taking his left wing and arm away but introducing him to H’esper, who gave him dark visions to push him forward. Inside him is an envious amount of courage and a stable sense of logic when things get dire, which has led other party members to consider him their leader. He doesn’t agree with the idea, but he’s not ready to let his friends down.
Qillek is a Support Champion capable of buffing allies while also debuffing enemies. He casts Prayer of Healing to heal the formation and Bless to boost their damage. When you want to add Qillek to your formation, you can swap him with Calliope (Slot 5).

For more information about our latest Champion, check out the Idle Champion Spotlight: Qillek dev blog!

Dungeons & Dragons Evelyn Avalona Helvig Marthain Anna Prosser Acquisitions Incorporated

    Year 1 Champion: Evelyn Marthain

Caring, motherly, and endlessly optimistic, Evelyn has adventured across the realms as part of the Waffle Crew with Strix, Diath, and Paultin for many years. She's always first in battle, thanks to her flying boots, and will always take a hit to protect others. Short, yet tough, her devotion to Lathander has seen her through many perilous situations.
Evelyn is a powerful Tank and Support Champion. She buffs her allies with her Divine Prayer, Channel Divinity, Steadfast Might, and Conduit of the Light abilities. When you want to add Evelyn to your party, you can swap her with Asharra (Slot 6).

    Year Three Variants

    • An Unkindness of Ravens — Jaheira starts in your formation in slot 3. She can't be moved. Ravens appear in each area; Whenever any raven dies, 1-2 more spawn. Ravens do not drop gold, nor do they count towards quest progress.
      Reach Area 75.

    • The Backwards Modron — Nordom the Modron joins the cause! Nordom takes up a spot in your formation and cannot be moved or removed. He is intent on helping Waterdeep with his lightning crossbow bolts, but instead of stunning the constructs, Nordom's lightning bolt accidentally empowers them!
      Reach Area 125.

    • Chickens in the Deep — In each area, an armored Abyssal Chicken spawns after 10 enemies. Abyssal Chickens drop no gold and do not count towards quest progress. Every 10 areas (from area 11 onward), the number of Abyssal Chickens that spawn per area is increased by 2.
      Reach Area 175.

    Year Two Variants

    • Division — Every time a Modron is killed (including bosses) it splits into two copies of a Modron one level lower on the Modron hierarchy. You must kill all the split Modrons in boss Areas.
      Reach Area 75.

    • Machine Learning — The Modorns have decided to stop bashing their melee weapons against the Champions with no results. All melee Modrons now throw gears at Champions while at range. Champions struck by four gears are stunned for 15 seconds.
      Reach Area 125.

    • Messenger of Hope — Qillek has a dream that his god has granted him the power to overcome The Great Modron March. Qillek begins the adventure in the formation and cannot be moved. Only Champions within two slots of Qillek can deal any damage.
      Reach Area 175.

    Year One Variants

    • The Neverending March — Every time a Modron is killed in non-boss areas it shuts down for five seconds and then comes back to life with full health.
      Reach Area 75.

    • (Hu)man vs. Machine — All human Champions get a buff called "The Human Spirit" which increases their damage by 5% in each area (stacking multiplicatively).
      Reach Area 125.

    • Charge Into Battle — Enemies move extremely fast and deal massive damage to everyone except Evelyn. Evelyn starts the adventure at level 1 and in the front slot of the formation.
      Reach Area 175.
