COTLI: The Yogscast - Search for Simon 2

Simon is missing! Again! It's time for the Crusaders to galavant about in search of their missing friend, and if they're lucky, they'll make a couple new friends along the way: Skeletom and the Game Goblin!

The Yogscast - Search for Simon 2 runs until Wednesday, June 27th at 12:00pm PDT. For more information, check out the How to Play / FAQ in-game!

New Tier 2 Crusaders: Skeletom & Game Goblin

Skeletom — Lord of all skeletons, Skeletom causes special random skeleton monsters to spawn. While alive or when killed, these skeletons offer different effects.

Game Goblin — The Game Goblin lives in a cave, slowly venturing out as you kill more and more monsters. Once he leaves the cave he tosses a bunch of games at monsters and offers some party buffs before retreating back inside.

Crusaders Return

If you haven't collected them already, you can unlock our Tier One Crusaders Turps the Tasty and Sjin the Builder by completing the respective Tier One objectives!

Five New Tier 2 Objectives!

  • Recruit Skeletom | Skeletom takes up a slot in the formation. Three different skeletons spawn randomly: Exploding, Radioactive, and Regular. Reach area 300.

  • Recruit the Game Goblin | The Game Goblin takes up a slot in the formation and sits in his cave. Every time you get a kill he gets closer to the front of his cave, decreasing DPS by 5% (multiplicative). Once you reach 100 kills he leaves his cave for 5 seconds and decreases DPS By 100%. He then retreats back into his cave and resets his stacks. Reach area 300.

  • Gaming the System | Monsters can only be damaged by clicking, explosions, or projectiles. Reach area 400.

  • Grumpy Gamers | Only the Yogscast Crusaders and a random assortment of six other bench slots may be used. These random bench slots change every 50 areas. Reach area 450.

  • Going Viral | Whenever you get a kill, one random Crusader earns 6-10 stacks of a "Going Viral" effect, which increases their DPS by 10% per stack. Upon reaching 100 stacks, they gain the "Crash and Burn" effect for 15 seconds, reducing their DPS to 0. Reach area 500.

Help! Where’s the Loot?

Equipment for event Crusaders can be found in Jeweled YogsChests, which you can earn from objectives and the free play or buy in the shop. Each non-recruitment objective will drop a chest for its given tier of Crusaders, and free play will drop all-tier chests. Gear for Tier 2 Crusaders will only appear in all-tier chests once you've unlocked the respective Crusaders. You can select the tier of chest you buy in the shop.

You'll have until Wednesday, June 27th at 12:00pm PDT to complete The Yogscast - Search for Simon 2!

The Blackstaff of Waterdeep, Vajra Safahr, has summoned you to Waterdeep. Upon arrival in the city, the party is quickly caught in a web of Waterdhavian intrigue, including a street war between Zhentarim mercenaries and the Xanathar guild, and a dinner meeting with the Open Lord of Waterdeep...

There's more history wound up in the High Jungle than you might first think, and it's begun to unravel! If you've completed the Cera Altepetl Boundary in the High Jungle, then the Town Crier's got a message for you!

This update includes over 30 new story quests, dailies, and an all-new awesome mini game! Grab your jungle gear and start the adventure!

The Town Crier will let you know when enough time has passed to pick up the continuing story quests. As you finish the story parts, you'll unlock new daily quests to do!

Completing the Daily Quests will award you Cacao Coins, which can be used to buy a plethora of exciting custom items and treats from the Cera Altepetl Pahcalli store once it's been unlocked.

Idle Champions: Grand Tour & Tomb Variants
Posted in Idle Champions.

Today's update includes the largest number of new variants we've ever released at once! There are three new Grand Tour of the Sword Coast variants and two new Tomb of Annihilation variants, each more challenging and devious than the last. In addition, this update includes new upgrades for all Champions and more than half a dozen commonly-requested quality of life fixes and features. Check out the Change Log for more details!

Grand Tour of the Sword Coast Variants

  • Escort to Waterdeep: Constant Banditry — Additional bandits spawn in every area but they don't drop gold.

  • Waterdeep Detours: Easily Distracted — Every 15 seconds a random Champion has their DPS disabled for 30 seconds. Squirrel!

  • Underdeep Cartography: Durable Deep — Monster health is replaced with five armored hits (bosses take 50).

Tomb of Annihilation Variants

  • The Templar's Camp: Poor Guidance — Your normal guide is unavailable! Instead, the party is stuck with an ill-informed guide taking up the center formation slot, and every 10 seconds the ill-informed guide disables the DPS of a random Champion for 20 seconds.

  • Rescue in the Jungle: Upholding the Law — Only lawful Champions may be used.

Features:

  • Added three new Variants for the Grand Tour of the Sword Coast Campaign: Constant Banditry, Easily Distracted, and Durable Deep.

  • Added two new Variants for the Tomb of Annihilation Campaign: Poor Guidance and Upholding the Law.

  • Added a panel to the reset screen that shows statistics about the completed adventure.

  • Monster types are now displayed when hovering over a monster, and hovering also brings their name and health bar to the front.

  • Added a new hotkey that toggles scientific notation (Y).

  • Free Play adventures now show the original adventure name in the quest display.

  • Selected level-up multiplier is now remembered through reloads.

  • Autoprogress is now turned on by default when starting a new adventure.

  • Added a Community Champion achievement for players that "showcase outstanding community leadership" (Does not appear or count towards achievement total if not earned).

  • If you get a golden item and already have a shiny item in that slot, you will now receive a bonus potion of polish which you can use to make a different item shiny.

Clarification (no actual change):

  • Barrowin's Blessed Hammer skill description changed to specify that it only buffs base attacks.

Balance Changes:

  • Added additional upgrades to all Champions, including a new "Bond" specialization choice for Asharra at level 350.

  • Zorbu's Favored Enemy upgrades now start with a 300% bonus damage instead of 100%.

Fixes:

  • Pressing 'Esc' while opening chests no longer closes the chest screen.

  • Fixed several typos. You've almost found them all, but several more remain. Keep searching!

  • Nrakk's ultimate description should now contain the correct buff amount based on all his ultimate bonuses (from gear, etc.)

  • The description for Nrakk's Deft Strike should now show the proper buffed value.

  • Fixed a case where the shiny effect on cards in the Blacksmith Contract dialog could animate incorrectly.

Coming Soon:

  • Fixes for offline gold and party DPS calculations with certain Champions.

Idle Champions Event: Festival of Fools
Posted in Idle Champions.

After a such long and cold winter, the citizens Daggerford are eager to celebrate the Festival of Fools: a day of feasting, drinking, and general foolishness. People don brightly-colored and garish clothing, dancing in the street like court jesters and competing with one another to see who can pull off the most foolish (yet harmless) pranks.

During the festivities a concerned villager approaches the party and asks for help. She says that her husband's prank is to try and taunt a frost giant...

Festival of Fools is our ninth limited-time event for Idle Champions, which starts today, lasts until Tuesday, April 10th at noon PDT, and introduces Strix, the Tiefling Sorcerer!

New Champion: Strix

The Sorcerer known as Strix is from Sigil, the City of Doors at the center of the multiverse. Very little is known of Strix's heritage, even to herself, but it was recently discovered that she was a powerful member of the Skizzicks family, who long ago made a pact with Asmodeus, ruler of the Nine Hells, to become Tieflings.

Strix is careful, suspicious, and paranoid. She assumes the worst in everyone and is always ready to run away or hide. She lacks basic manners and maintains poor personal hygiene, exemplified by the collection of filthy oddities she hoards within her robes, including snacks which she refers to as "snicketty snooks."

As a child, Strix witnessed a shadowy creature slaughter her friends at the bakery where she worked, but was spared for unknown reasons. Her survivor's guilt drives her to try and help those in need, no matter the personal cost.

When you want to add Strix to your party, you can swap her with Jamilah.

Festival of Fools Variants

  • Foolish Variance — Champions randomly do between 0.1% and 199.9% of their actual damage with each hit.

  • Persistent Foolishness — The Drunken Fool appears randomly in non-boss areas. Only one can be spawned at a time, but he has special abilities each time he appears.

  • Like Father Like Son — The farmer's son takes up a slot in the formation. He moves to a new slot every 25 areas. Every 15 seconds (in non-boss areas) the farmer's son foolishly summons a Frost Giant to attack the formation unless Strix is adjacent to him.

Features:

  • Added the Festival of Fools event, our ninth limited-time campaign event! The event will run until Tuesday, April 10th at noon PDT.
  • Added a new Champion: Strix.
  • Added a new event Divine Favor: Lliira's Favor.

FAQ

How do I participate in the Easter Egg Hunt?
Talk to the NPC under the Easter Egg Hunt banner to be teleported to the hunting zone.

What do I do in the Easter Egg Hunt zone?
Click on all the crates, barrels, rocks and bushes trying to find as many eggs as you can. There are only 20 eggs hidden in all the doodads.

How do I get a perfect score in the Easter Egg Hunt?
You need to collect all 20 eggs - basically not letting any of the other hunters find any.

I’m too slow at the Hunt. How can I be better?
The NPC with the wizard hat in the event area of the Commons sells boosts for Easter Tokens. Speed up your character and distract the other hunters with his wares. Also, travel in a circle, starting in the area closest to where everyone else is being distracted. And don't click on the searchable items themselves, click beside them. Clicking on the item causes you to walk slower.

When will the last quest unlock?
All quests will be unlocked by the 10th day of the event.

What contributes to my 100% progress?
Turning in the Unpainted Eggs, the Dye and the Wax as well as completing the Easter Egg Hunt and the quests for the folks in the event area.

Why do I want to ask friends for help?
It increases the amount of progress you get from doing a turn-in.

Do I have to do the achievements?
No. Completing the goals for the achievements is totally optional. You get either a large energy pack or a title for your character from them, no event progress.

Where can I see the achievements available and how to get them?
Either on the holiday dialog, the achievements dialog, or on the blog.

When can I do the World Wide Easter Egg Hunt?
The World Wide Easter Egg Hunt starts on Easter Sunday - April 1st - and lasts for the rest of the event.

Where do I find World Wide Easter Egg Hunt Eggs?
Once the hunt has started, you can find eggs by clicking them in many of the zones in the world. Eggs are hidden behind rocks and trees and in tricky to access locations in normal zones, secret areas, and adventure zones all over the world. Not every area has an egg hidden in it. There are 75 eggs hidden throughout the world in total, but you'll need to be done most of the content in the game to find them all.

FAQ

What are the different leprechauns?
You can whack up two types of leprechauns: hatted and non-hatted.
  • There are 8 hatted ones to find, 3 will unlock turn-in stations, and the other 5 will give you daily quests. You must manually whack these ones to capture them.

  • The non-hatted ones will drop items for you to turn into the turn-in stations. You can quick whack and mana whack non-hatted leprechauns when they appear if you wish. The non-hatted leprechauns will *always* drop some turn-in items, rather than just having a chance to.

How can I find the leprechauns?
Just keep whacking. You could whack them all up in a day if you wanted to. The odds to whack up hatted leprechauns will increase as the event goes on.

What adds to my event progress?
Turning in items to the Gold, Beer and Clover stations, and doing quests for folks in the event area.

Do I have to do the achievements?
No. Completing the goals for the achievements is totally optional. You get either a large energy pack or a title for your character from them, no event progress.

Where can I see all the achievements available and how to get them?
Either on the holiday dialog, the achievements dialog, or on the blog.

Why should I ask for friends to help boost turn-ins?
It increases the amount of progress you get from doing a turn-in.
