BW2: Spring Garden Event 2026!
Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Flowers In Bloom!

The annual Grow-A-Thon has returned to the Commons! Whack the bushes and gather their bounty so that you can plant flowers and trees in the Event area to make yourself a gorgeous garden. Impress the judges every 20 hours to earn Spring tokens to buy this year's Custom Items. You need to impress the previous judge to get a rating from the next one.

Plus, fill your magnificent garden with critters! There are 5 to get throughout the event, starting with the Squirrel today! You can send out requests for a free one.

Many Quests!

George has such a terrible green thumb, he'll be looking for you to help him out trying to grow a plant for the first (or fourth) time.

Spring usually means spring cleaning, right? Freddy needs some help cleaning up his house. It's gotten a little bit spooky. Cleaning items can only be whacked in his house.

Timmy wants to wake his turtle up from its hibernation after that long, cold winter. Aid him in finding things to tempt it back to consciousness.

Help Farmer McDonald splice together some special Spring Seeds! For players level 400+, Farmer McDonald will reward you with Tier 2 Spring Fruit and Spring Vegetable seeds! These crops will yield energy and gold balanced for your higher level.

Joel has various species of bees for you to choose from after you complete his bee helping quests! They are:

- Leafcutter Bee
- Red-tailed Bumblebee
- Tawny Mining Bee
- Blue Banded Bee
- Neon Cuckoo Bee
- Green Carpenter Bee
- Golden Tail Bee
- Green Sweat Bee
- Purple Orchid Bee

A Seed Surplus

Have too many seeds? There are things you can spend them on:
- 10 Fertilizer, once daily
- The Spring Gift Bouquet, once daily (alternatively to buying for Spring Tokens)
- Resetting the cooldown on the critic's judging of your garden

Gorgeous Garden Contest

Returning is the Gorgeous Garden contest, where each Bush Whacker submits a screenshot of their garden for all to judge! Check back next week for more details.

New Content

This year's update includes:

- 2 new tier 4 and 5 VIP rewards!
- new costume items in the store!
- new ranch items in the store!
- new garden flowers: Fern Bush, Lions Tooth Flower, Round Shrub
- new garden decoration: Circle Pond
- new pet packs!
- new mount packs!
- new holiday 100% reward!

Holiday Trees

If you can complete the event, you'll earn this awesome 100% reward: The Spring Garden Banner!

More Decorations!

Three new growable decorations have been added: Fern Bush, Lions Tooth Flower, and Round Shrub! Plant seeds for these in your garden boxes in the event area. These can also be bought permanently from Joel at the left of the event area.

A new garden item can be bought for seeds: the Circle Pond!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I find the seeds?
Just keep whacking. The Holiday Item runes and pets will help attract them as well.

  • How do I grow plants?
There are the planters outside the garden to grow flowers in. If you click on them, you can see the plant store. Each plant has a different cost and grow time to get you your event progress points. You start with 4 free planters.

  • Is it good to buy extra planters for growing the plants?
If you have the seeds to spare and prefer to plant long-growing plants, then yes, it's worth it.

  • How do I get the Decorator achievement?
If you go into the gardening area, the store button ($) has a selection of garden decorating items, where you can find the planter styles and watering can. These items also cost seeds.

  • What are the possible seed combinations for Farmer MacDonald's quest?
You can choose seeds that grow either Energy or Gold, and then choose between 20, 15, 4, and 3 hours of growth time.

  • Why do my custom seeds cost Gold to plant?
You created the combination, which is unlocked until they expire. Just like normal plants, they cost Gold for planting. We don't award a flat number of seeds, because not all players have the same amount of farm plots. This way, you get to choose how many you end up growing. :)
  • Why don't my custom seeds last longer?
Because they're OP! Enjoy them while they last. :)

  • How do I please the judges?
Just keep growing plants. As your event progress increases, you will impress the judges more and more. You DO NOT need to place them in your garden if you don't wish to. The plants still count for progress.

  • Does the Timey-Wimey watch or Time Turner affect the judges?
No, judges do not have quest cooldowns, so trinket effects that work for quests will not apply to them.

  • What adds to my event progress?
Growing plants worth points and completing the side quests. To get the points from your plants, you don't even need to place them in your garden! Just grow them!

  • Do I have to do the achievements?
No. Completing the goals for the achievements is totally optional. You get either a large energy pack or a title for your character from them, no event progress.

  • Where can I see all the achievements available and how to get them?
Either on the holiday dialog, the achievements dialog, or on the blog.

Champion Update: Melf
Posted in Idle Champions.

Born into the royal family of Celene, he assumed the simple name of Melf eschewing a life of comfort as a noble to study the arcane arts and train as a swordsman. He delved in the dungeons of Castle Greyhawk, the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth and many other harrowing places honing his skills, knowledge and amassing powerful magical items. Melf sees himself as a weapon of weal hurtling toward the heart of the darkest evils in the realm. He is opinionated and has a touch of conceit that he is blissfully ignorant of possessing..
Melf is receiving a major update arriving at the start of the second week of the Great Modron March. Lets take a look at the new-and-improved Melf!

Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Zagyg's Needle (melee) - Melf leaps out and attacks the nearest enemy with his magic spear. If he has any Minute Meteors active, he fires one at a random enemy as well.

Formation Abilities

  • Melf's Custom Support Spell - Melf creates a custom spell to assist the formation. It increases the damage of adjacent Champions by 400%, and will be augmented based on the specialization you pick for Melf.
  • Melf in the Middle - Melf increases the range of Melf's Custom Support Spell by 2 and the effect of Melf's Custom Support Spell by 400% if Melf is in the column in the formation with the most Champions. In the event of a formation with multiple columns of the same size, Melf can be in any of them.
  • Melf's Righteous Determination - Melf knows exactly what evil is. Whenever an enemy spawns, or is attacked by Melf, it has a 50% chance of being deemed "evil". Enemies that are deemed evil take 1000% more damage from all attacks that deal BUD-based damage (such as Ultimate Attacks).

Specializations A

  • Melf's Frequent Foes - Melf magically causes an additional enemy to spawn with each wave 25% of the time. If there are any Champions in the formation with a Favored Foe, the enemy spawned will be a random Champion's Favored Foe.
  • Melf's Speedy Spawns - Melf magically increases enemy spawn speed by 50%, and Melf's Righteous Determination "evil" chance is increased by 25% additively (to a 75% chance).
  • Melf's Doubled Drops - Melf magically increases the chance that an enemy will drop double quest items or count for two kills by 25%.

Specializations B

  • Melf's Abundant Allies - Melf counts the most populous species among other Champions in the formation. Melf's Custom Support Spell is increased by 400% for each Champion of that species in the formation, stacking multiplicatively. If tied, all tied species count.
  • Melf's Adaptive Attacks - Melf counts the most popular attack type among other Champions in the formation. Melf's Custom Support Spell is increased by 400% for each Champion in the formation with that type, stacking multiplicatively, and Melf changes his attack to match. If tied, all tied attack types count.
  • Melf's Ranked Roles - Melf counts the most represented non-Support Role among the other Champions in the formation. Melf's Custom Support Spell is increased by 400% for each Champion in the formation with that role, stacking multiplicatively, and Melf gains the Role. If tied, all tied Roles count.
  • Melf's Amorphous Alignment - Melf counts the most represented alignment on the Lawful/Chaotic axis among the other Champions in the formation. Melf's Custom Support Spell is increased by 400% for each Champion in the formation with that alignment, stacking multiplicatively, and Melf gains the alignment. If tied, all tied alignments count.

Ultimate Ability

  • Melf's Minute Meteors (magic) - Melf summons six Minute Meteors that float around him. They are fired when he attacks normally and deal AOE BUD-based damage.

Idle Champions: Great Modron March 9
Posted in Idle Champions.

Several times each century, the clockwork plane of Mechanus mobilizes a vast wave of modrons and sends them on a tour of the cosmos. Known as "The Great Modron March," this unstoppable tide of lawful constructs journeys across the material plane on the exact same route each time. However, this time something has changed -- the modrons are marching on Waterdeep.

The Great Modron March has returned for Year 9, introducing Laurana Kanan, The Golden General, and Hero of the Lance elf fighter, as well as bringing a major update to Greyhawk's Prince Brightflame himself, Melf

Featured Champions

BW2: Bird Watching Community Quest!
Posted in Bush Whacker 2.

Bird Watching

Wren Windmere, a travelling ornithologist, has arrived to the land of Bushwhackia!

In this unique window of time, a vast variety of birds are gathered here together. Wren is hoping to observe and document every bird he can find, but he needs help from the whole community to do so.

Enriching Contributions

To attract these migratory birds to the event area, each individual Bush Whacker must find Bird Toys from bushes all across Bushwhackia!

Turn in these Bird Toys to Wren to earn Bird Watching Tokens! These tokens can be traded for your choice of bird pet!

And to further the effort, Wren's assistant, Piper, has a series of quests you can do to build up the temporary roosting spot in the event area.

Birds of a Feather

Every Bird Toy found increases your individual Bird Toy Points for this mini-event, but also earns points towards the collective goals for the community!

The more community progress, the more options of bird pets there are to choose from in Ye Rare Bird Aviary to trade your tokens for!

Each Bush Whacker may only trade for 1 bird pet during this mini-event. Work together to unlock the most options possible!

After selecting your bird pet, extra tokens can be exchanged for special satchels in the store.

Flock Together

You have until Wed April 29th to make your contributions to this limited-time community quest! Assuming you're all successful, you can pick up your reward from them any time before Friday May 1st at noon.

Post your comments, questions, and squawk here on the forum!

Champion Update: Lucius Elenasto
Posted in Idle Champions.

Lucius Virion-Elluin Elenasto was born to high nobility. He thought he knew what he was getting into when he joined the Heroes of Aerois, but then he met his first cow. Dreadful, evil creatures. Lucius is slowly coming out of his nobility shell as he continues to learn the true value of comradery, friendship, and a world without barriers.
Lucius has needed an update for a while now, and we're happy to finally dive in and modernize his design.

As an added surprise to this event, we've also made some small updates to how each of the other Heroes of Aerois Champions (Aila, Qillek, Sentry, and Nova) contributes stacks of Aerois Synergy!

Lets take a look at the new-and-improved Lucius Virion-Elluin Elenasto and the updates to his friends!

Abilities

Passive Abilities

  • Chromat Caster - Lucius alternates his attacks between two spells: Acid Splash and Ray of Frost.

Basic Attack

  • Acid Splash (magic) - Lucius attacks a random enemy with Acid Splash, dealing damage. Prefers enemies not affected by acid.
  • Ray of Frost (magic) - Lucius attacks the furthest enemy with Ray of Frost, dealing damage and also damaging all enemies along a line between him and the enemy.

Formation Abilities

  • Arcane Chromat - Acid - Enemies damaged by Acid Splash gain one stack of Acid. Each stack of Acid causes the enemy to take 400% more damage from all of Lucius' subsequent attacks, stacking multiplicatively up to 10 times.
  • Arcane Chromat - Cold - Enemies damaged by Ray of Frost are slowed by 50% for 10 seconds. Enemies slowed by this ability take 400% more damage from all of Lucius' attacks for each slow, stun, or root affecting them (stacking multiplicatively), including this slow.
  • Elemental Adept - When an enemy is affected by both of Lucius' Arcane Chromat abilities at the same time they are stunned for 3 seconds. When the stun expires they "explode" with acid and ice, applying one stack of Acid and dealing 10 seconds of BUD-based damage to themselves and all enemies in a small radius. The exploding enemy's Arcane Chromat - Cold debuff is then consumed.
  • Aerois Synergy - Lucius contributes 2 stacks to Aerois Synergy every time Elemental Adept is triggered; if a boss enemy is combo'd it adds an additional 8 stacks (10 total). Lucius' maximum number of stacks is 200 plus the highest area completed in the current run divided by 5 (rounded down). 10% of his contributed stacks are removed when changing areas. Lucius' base damage is increased by 50% times the total number of Aerois Synergy stacks, with this bonus doubling for every 100 total stacks.
  • Armor Eating Acid - Enemies with segmented health lose 1 extra segment when Lucius damages them with his Acid Splash attack or Elemental Adept explosion.

Specializations

  • Dichromancy - Lucius gains a Dichromancy stack every time the Elemental Adept ability triggers an explosion. Lucius' damage is increased by 100% for each Dichromancy stack he has, stacking multiplicatively up to 25 times. Stacks reset when changing areas.
  • Corrosion Master - Lucius attacks twice with his Acid Splash before switching to Ray of Frost. Additionally, enemies affected by at least 2 stacks of Acid take 400% more damage from all of Lucius' attacks.
  • Lingering Chill - Lucius attacks twice with his Ray of Frost before switching to Acid Splash. When an enemy explodes and loses their Arcane Chromat - Cold debuff, they gain a Lingering Chill debuff which slows them by 25% and lasts for 20 seconds. Additionally, enemies affected by at least 2 slow effects take 400% more damage from all of Lucius' attacks.

Ultimate Ability

  • Prismatic Spray (magic) - Eight multi-coloured rays flash from Lucius' hand in a cone shape. Each enemy in the cone takes acid/cold damage and receives both the Arcane Chromat - Acid and Arcane Chromat - Cold effects (causing them to freeze and then explode in several seconds due to Elemental Adept).

Additional Champion Updates!

As part of the exciting updates for Lucius above, we've updated his Aerois Synergy ability so that the Aerois Synergy pool only loses 10% of Lucius' contributed stacks when changing areas. Based on how that played, we decided to make the same change to the Aerois Synergy abilities for Aila, Qillek, Sentry, and Nova. With the update to Lucius on April 8th, the shared Aerois Synergy pool will only loose 10% of each of the Heroes of Aerois' contributed stacks instead of 50% when changing areas!

Aila

Aerois Synergy — Aila contributes one stack to Aerois Synergy every time any Champion attacks an Electrified enemy. Their maximum number of stacks is 200 plus the highest area completed in the current run divided by 5 (rounded down). 50% 10% of her contributed stacks are removed when changing areas. Electrified enemies take additional damage equal to 10% times the total number of Aerois Synergy stacks.

Qillek

Aerois Synergy — Qillek contributes one stack to Aerois Synergy per second. Their maximum number of stacks is 200 plus the highest area completed in the current run divided by 5 (rounded down). 50% 10% of his contributed stacks are removed when changing areas. Bless is increased by 25% times the total number of Aerois Synergy stacks.

Sentry

Aerois Synergy — Sentry contributes one stack to Aerois Synergy every time an enemy spawns, and for each second a boss has been alive. Their maximum number of stacks is 200 plus the highest area completed in the current run divided by 5 (rounded down). 50% 10% of her contributed stacks are removed when changing areas. Guardian of Solwynn is increased by 10% times the total number of Aerois Synergy stacks.

Nova

Aerois Synergy — Nova contributes one stack to Aerois Synergy every time an enemy is stunned, rooted, or slowed. Their maximum number of stacks is 200 plus the highest area completed in the current run divided by 5 (rounded down). 50% 10% of her contributed stacks are removed when changing areas. The Crew is increased by 20% times the total number of Aerois Synergy stacks.

Idle Champions: Festival of Fools 9
Posted in Idle Champions.

After a such long and cold winter, the citizens Daggerford are eager to celebrate the Festival of Fools: a day of feasting, drinking, and general foolishness. People don brightly-colored and garish clothing, dancing in the street like court jesters and competing with one another to see who can pull off the most foolish (yet harmless) pranks.

During the festivities a concerned villager approaches the party and asks for help. She says that her husband's prank is to try and taunt a frost giant...
Festival of Fools as returned for Year 9, introducing Tasslehoff Burrfoot, everyone's favorite 'borrower' and Hero of the Lance, as well as bringing a major update to Lucius Elenasto, the Arcane Chromat!

Featured Champions

Tasslehoff

Excitable, friendly, and insatiably curious, Tasslehoff Burrfoot is a kender of no small renown. Tas is the beating heart of the Heroes of the Lance, and his knack for 'borrowing' somehow manages to solve more problems than it causes. While Tas may not see himself as a hero, he is fearless in the face of Krynn's greatest dangers, and he always comes to the aid of his friends.

Learn more about Tasslehoff in his Champion Spotlight.

While Tas may not see himself as a hero, he is fearless in the face of Krynn's greatest dangers, and he always comes to the aid of his friends.
Tasslehoff Burrfoot is a Support and Speed Champion who buffs Champions in one of the back three columns of the player's choice. His diversionary nature strengthens that column at the cost of positional formation abilities next to him, and his wanderlust further increases his support as the party remains in an area. Finally, his habit to borrow items speeds up progression in areas with quest items.
