Idle Champions: Founders' Day 8

Celebrations are underway to commemorate the founding of the Free City of Waterdeep. Founders Day attracts huge crowds to the Field of Triumph, where audiences watch illusory shows about Waterdeep's history and martial exhibitions by notable Champions and the renown city guard.

Festivities have also brought an ancient power from Avernus, first layer of the Nine Hells. A fallen angel has arrived to collect souls for the Blood War...

    Tess grew up in a small village where she wreaked havoc as an amateur thief (she stole to see if she could, not because she wanted to keep the items - mostly), before her parents sent her to be trained by an aging halfling rogue named Mel. Tess is a Support Champion who leads by example, buffing the damage of all Champions behind her. This expert in traps has a plan for everything, increasing your formation's damage if she is given companions with a diverse set of roles. Tess can always be found with the Fallbacks' Otyugh companion Uggie nearby.

Basic Attack

Passive Abilities

  • Uggie! - Uggie joins the party, starting next to Tess unless they're already in the formation next to another Fallbacks Champion. Uggie increases the damage of all non-adjacent Champions by 100%.

Formation Abilities

  • Lead The Way - Tess increases the damage of all Champions in the columns behind her by 100%.
  • Unleash Uggie - Uggie's buff is increased by 400% when Tess is in the formation
  • Snack Attack - When Uggie is with Tess, Uggie attacks a random target whenever Tess attacks or disarms a trap. Uggie's attack deals 5 seconds of BUD-based damage.
  • A Plan For Everything - Tess increases the effect of Lead The Way by 100% for each different role in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Trap Expert - There's a 5% chance when an enemy dies that they drop a Trap that Tess immediately spots. During Tess's next attack, rather than attacking, she leaps out and disarms the Trap before it can harm any of her friends. For each Trap disarmed in this way, Lead The Way is increased by 10%, stacking additively. Stacks persist through resets.

  • The Fallback Plan - Tess increases the effect of Lead The Way by 100% for each unaffiliated Champion or Fallbacks Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

Welcome to the Event Augment preview for Founder's Day Year 8!

Our next event arrives on Wednesday, July 2, with one New Champion, one Champion Update, and these changes to Augments:

Founders' Day 8 Event Augments

  • Augment 1: Free Rerolls (Returning Augment)
    Description: You gain five free rerolls to use on each set of your Weekly Offers during this event!

  • Augment 2: Worth Waiting For (New Augment)
    Description: Completing tier 2+ variants for the reworked Champion and Champions in the flex slots unlocked with Time Gate Pieces or Boon Levels awards double Chests.

  • Augment 3: Auto Blacksmith (Returning Augment)
    Description: Event Champions whose recruitment adventure or variants you complete gain common rarity equipment in all slots if they don't already have better. Every tier two or higher event variant completed automatically applies 100 Tiny Blacksmithing Contracts to the variant's Champion's equipment for free!

  • Augment 4: Boon Enhancements (New Augment)
    Description: An additional boon buff at each level increases global damage based on the number of unique roles fulfilled by Champions in the formation, stacking additively.

The hunt for Vecna continues.

Our Champions face off against the forces of Lolth on the Outer Plane of Pandemonium. But this Ruinous Citadel is far more than it seems, and a legendary primordial obyrith is about to break free...

Part 9 of the Vecna: Eve of Ruin campaign introduces Tier 5 Blessings and sees the Champions battle across Pandesmos, the topmost layer of Pandemonium, all the way to the forbidden Ruinous Citadel.

Note: You will need to have completed the previous two Vecna: Eve of Ruin adventures, The Rod of Seven Parts and Pandemonium, in order to access these new adventures.

The War of Pandesmos

Square off with Lolth's forces in Pandesmos.

Square off with Lolth's relentless forces in Pandesmos with a drow companion.

  • Aarakocra Champions break 3 times the amount of armored or segmented health when they deal damage.
  • Bosses cannot be moved, rooted, or stunned, except in extraordinary circumstances, and they immediately start to enrage upon spawning.
  • All boss monsters have at least 25 armored health.

BW2: Generation 19 Pets are Here!

Gotta find 'em all!

A new selection of critters are now available to be your companions!

Those weirdly random abandoned eggs scattered all over Bushwhackia have been switched up and all new pets are ready to hatch when you accept the "Find an Egg" quest from Misty. She will also have all the Generation 19 eggs available to purchase for Bush Bucks during the "Find an Egg" quest.

Other changes to Misty and Hank for Generation 19:

  • Misty will no longer let players abandon Gen 18 pet eggs that they are hatching (they're now too rare). Only current generation pet eggs can be abandoned during hatching. Please note that if you're in the middle of hatching a pet, then that egg will still hatch into whatever pet it would have been before.

  • Generation 18 pet eggs can now be found in Quester's Satchels (with the same limitations as the Generation 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 eggs, which will still be available in satchels as well.)

  • Hank now sells a random assortment of hatched level 1 Generation 19 pets (instead of Generation 18) for Bush Bucks in his pet store.

PAGAS changes for Generation 19:

  • Generation 19 pet eggs are available to buy with DNA in the PAGAS store, once you have hatched at least five Generation 19 pets. This include 8 unique variations of the new pets.

  • The Pet Progress dialog now includes Generation 19 pets. Another 18 new pets that all players can unlock!

  • Added 1350 unique pet collection reward: 10k Nutritious Training Kibble

Champion Update: Krond

    Krond was born of a union between an academic human wizard and a mighty orc fighter who led a nomadic orc community. Raised as a fearsome warrior and arcane scholar, he studied these arts with equal passion. Krond's parents tragically lost their lives protecting their family and friends during an enemy raid. This moment changed Krond, and he swore revenge upon the world. Taking up an ancestral warhammer called Unity, Krond set out to make things right, one way or another.
Krond has been reworked to become a true Support, greatly increasing his versatility, while still allowing him to be a DPS Champion.

Basic Attack

  • War Magic (melee) - Krond leaps out and attacks the front-most target with his bonded warhammer. If you have a Cantrip Feat equipped, he then casts the given Cantrip.

  • War Magic - Krond's Cantrip Feats now deal damage equal to 5 seconds of BUD-based damage for each 100% of Krond's base damage that they normally deal.

Idle Champions: Dragondown 8

    It's the Summer Solstice in Faerûn, which means it is time for Dragondown celebrations!

    While the City of Waterdeep celebrates Dragondown by burning dragon effigies to symbolize the city's victories over invading dragons, some smaller celebrations focus on ceremonial bonfires and charms, with mock-spells and chanted prayers performed as the sun sets.

    But something has gone wrong in Luskan this year, where locals have drawn the ire of a Bronze Dragon and its kin...
The first Dragondown was the 13th limited-time event in Idle Champions, launching on June 25th, 2018. This year marks our eighth Dragondown event, which introduces Hank the Ranger, the leader and final member of the Saturday Morning Squad affiliation, with today's launch. Our second Featured Champion, Krond, will be receiving a significant update, with a new Champion Update blog coming on Friday, June 6, before his launch next Wednesday, June 11.

  • Augment 1: Free Rerolls (Returning Augment)
    Description: You gain five free rerolls to use on each set of your Weekly Offers during this event!
  • Augment 2: Golden Weekly Offers (Returning Augment)
    Description: One of your weekly offers will be Golden during this event. Golden offers provide an additional 10% discount! The Golden tag persists when an offer is rerolled.
  • Augment 3: Auto Blacksmith (Returning Augment)
    Description: Event Champions whose recruitment adventure or variants you complete gain common rarity equipment in all slots if they don't already have better. Every tier two or higher event variant completed automatically applies 100 Tiny Blacksmithing Contracts to the variant's Champion's equipment for free!
  • Augment 4: Additional Boon Buff (New Augment)
    Description: An additional boon buff at each level increases global damage based on the number of Pigments on Champions in the formation, stacking additively.

Steam Local Currency Update

Yesterday, we rolled out an update to Steam players which allows our in-game shop to show their local currencies instead of USD. Steam will now charge players in local currencies instead of a converted USD price, using Steam's standard conversion rates. With this update, local currencies are now displayed in Idle Champions across all platforms except Android, which is our next priority.

Champion Spotlight: Hank

    Hank is the steadfast and courageous leader of the group of friends that has been swept away into the perilous realm of Dungeons & Dragons. As the Ranger, he wields his signature Energy Bow to fend off danger and light the way forward. Though the weight of leadership tests him at every turn, Hank’s tactical insight and unwavering resolve keep the party moving forward in their quest to find a way back home.
Hank is a Support and Control Champion who leads a bunch of kids who have been swept away to the world of Dungeons & Dragons. Hank's stalwart encouragement buffs the damage of Champions next to him, and his unerring Energy Bow keeps the enemies away.

Abilities

Basic Attack

  • Energy Bow (ranged) - Hank attacks the closest enemy, dealing 1 hit. (They are also knocked back once the Energy Bow ability is unlocked.)

Formation Abilities

  • Stalwart Encouragement - Hank increases the damage of Champions adjacent to him by 100%.
  • Energy Bow - Enemies that Hank hits are knocked back. The distance they're knocked back increases the closer they are to the formation.
  • Time Gate Piece Scavenger - Hank can help scavenge up to 5 additional Time Gate Pieces when killing bosses. While this cap is not reached, Hank has a 1% chance of scavenging 1 Time Gate Piece each time a boss is defeated. The cap increases by 1/3 every day.
  • Every Little Bit Helps - Hank increases the effect of Stalwart Encouragement by 10% for each item that has ever been collected by Scavenger abilities, stacking additively.

Specializations A

  • Heart of Heroes - Hank increases the damage bonus of Stalwart Encouragement by 100% for each Champion in the formation with a total ability score of 78 or less, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Arrow Alliance - Hank increases the damage bonus of Stalwart Encouragement by 125% for each Champion in the formation with a Ranged attack, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Unyielding Unity - Hank increases the damage bonus of Stalwart Encouragement by 200% for each member of the Saturday Morning Squad in the formation, stacking multiplicatively. This also adds the Saturday Morning Squad affiliation to Dungeon Master.

Specializations B

  • Tactical Advantage - Whenever an enemy is knocked back, Hank gains a Tactics stack. For each Tactics stack, the Critical Hit Chance of all Champions in the formation is increased by 1%, and the Critical Hit Damage of all Champions in the formation is increased by 10%. Tactics stacks stack additively up to 50 times and reset when changing areas.
  • Dragon Slayer - Hank gains the Hunter role with Dragons as his Favored Foe. Non-boss waves spawn a Dragon 50% of the time. Stalwart Encouragement’s effect is increased by 100% for each Dragon defeated in the current area, stacking multiplicatively up to 10 times. In boss areas, non-boss waves always spawn a dragon, and defeated dragons provide 5 stacks.

Ultimate Ability

  • Arrows of Restraint (ranged) - Hank fires 5 arrows at random enemies, dealing 1 ultimate hit and stunning each of them.

Vecna: Eve of Ruin Part 8

At the behest of the Wizards Three, the Champions have ventured across the multiverse in search of pieces of the Rod of Seven Parts.

Now, it's time to assemble the rod. And time for a traitor to strike.

Part 8 of the Vecna: Eve of Ruin campaign takes the party to Pandesmos, the topmost layer of Pandemonium, where they will face the greatest threat the multiverse has ever faced - and an ancient enemy, sealed away by the Rod a long, long time ago.

Note: You will need to have completed the previous two Vecna: Eve of Ruin adventures, Hellbound and The Red Belvedere, in order to access these new adventures.

The Rod of Seven Parts

Assemble the completed rod and discover what happens next.
  • Complete area 1100

Variant: The House Always Wins

Assemble the completed rod while under the threat of a giant roulette ball.
  • The formation slots are colored Red, Black and two glowing Green slots.
  • A giant roulette ball joins the formation as an escort.
  • Starting upon entering area 101, and every 100 areas thereafter, the giant roulette ball jumps up and spins around in a circle above the formation before landing on a random formation slot, removing that Champion and all other Champions that are in a formation slot of the same color. Removed Champions can't be used for the rest of the adventure, and the ball stays in that slot until it moves again.
  • Champions can't otherwise be removed from the formation once they've been added.
  • Complete Area 1150

Variant: Double or Nothing

Assemble the completed rod and gain a beneficial Windfall.
  • The formation slots are colored Red, Black and two glowing Green slots.
  • A giant roulette ball joins the formation as an escort.
  • Starting upon entering area 76, and every 75 areas thereafter, the giant roulette ball jumps up and spins around in a circle above the formation before landing on a random formation slot, removing that Champion and all other Champions that are in a formation slot of the same color. Removed Champions can't be used for the rest of the adventure, and the ball stays in that slot until it moves again.
  • Champions can't otherwise be removed from the formation once they've been added.
  • Click damage only deals damage (including Fire Breath effects) for the first 25 areas
  • Fire breath potions can't be used during the adventure.
  • Complete Area 1200
  • Unlocks Windfall (Evergreen Champion)

Pandemonium

Trek across Pandemonium in search of Vecna.
  • Complete area 1150

Variant: Panda-monium

Trek across Panda-monium in search of Vecna.
  • Every wave spawns 1-2 Illusory Fancy Red Pandas. They don't drop gold, nor count towards quest progress.
  • Every time a Red Panda is defeated, enemy damage and movement speed is increased by 50%, stacking multiplicatively and resetting when changing areas. You may only use Evil Champions, as only Evil Champions have the heart to attack these adorable Red Pandas. You should be ashamed of yourself for encouraging this behavior.
  • Complete Area 1200

New Evergreen Champion: Windfall

    A dedicated champion of Tiamat, Windfall has been granted phenomenal power by her master. She is the proprietor of the Red Belvedere, a monument to Tiamat and a remnant of Avernus's original existence as a bucolic paradise designed to tempt mortals. Its edifice was destroyed in the carnage of the Blood War, but Windfall rebuilt the casino and rededicated it to the Dragon Queen as a celebration of her god's greed and vanity. Windfall is ostentatious and charismatic, making small talk with regular patrons and jovially welcoming new faces to the casino. She once plotted to assemble the Rod of Seven Parts to create a gift for her cruel goddess, but has instead joined the Champions at Tiamat's behest.
